Rain is Coming

I posted this photo on Facebook but seeing Remy was at a photoshoot for his human's sister's wedding, I thought it was a good celebration to post about. Remy is a Wasabi pup and will be 17 in October.  He still plays. He is excited to be here. Usually they sleep a great deal at this age as we do when we age but he is excited to be here. What gorgeous dresses and suits. Nathan drove Remy to the event so they could take photos with him. They had a bow tie collar made for him from the wedding dress material.

Every time we get blessed to see Remy or his siblings, my heart melts. 

The rain is coming. I got to ride in the van for the 1st time. We had to get soil before the rain comes as Dennis is too short. So 40 more bags. LOL That is what you have vans for - soil and dogs. LOL Do you think we need a xpen around it? I think so but Dennis says not. Who cleans the dogs?

We are getting heavy rain starting tonight so I think Dennis won't do the seed yet - just the soil. 

I want to say thank you hugely for the tip from Bailey's mom (grandma?) I wasn't here when you picked her up so hopefully you will read here. Thank you also to Lachlan's mom in a huge way. We are looking forward to him arriving tomorrow. 

Thank you truly to Sherry for the steak sandwich for Dennis and I. Yum! The dogs looked at me crosseyed as they wanted the steak but Nathan bbq'd steak and Dennis cut it up into small pieces. They were in love. I think they like him tonight more than me. 

Dogs played, Dogs lounged and well had a grand time.

Miss Emmy has made a great friend with Yoshi. Apryl is enjoying the runs we have and she is tolerating my mouth expeditions as of late. 

Life is good. We have a van. Got to pay for it but feeling lucky to have one. 

Now to snuggle the dogs. 

Run, Play and Have Fun

Dogs had fun in this heat. They ran, they lounged and they played!It has been a good day. The dogs have already eaten. We are inside in the air conditioner. 

Thank you to that special owner that gave me a huge tip. I soooooooooooo appreciate it beyond belief.

Nathan cut Holly's nails today. He does this for humans that can't cut nails and he does it for free. We realize how much the vets cost you to do them.

Nathan got our vanity plates on the van. I have to sublimate a frame that says I love Havanese or Talemaker Havanese. Haven't figure it out yet. Can you believe I haven't driven or been in the car once yet? LOL Nathan had to change the plates today and the DMV and he said there was the grouchiest person waiting on people. He so tried to make her smile. He arrived back home and bark bark excitement from the dogs when he returned excited to see him as if he went away for a long time. 

I think Dennis is 100% but I told him to wait for 1 more day before running with the dogs. It is my day off so he can be doing crazy things tomorrow. 

I had to wash the rug in front twice today. We had excited dogs today. I am thankful I have a ruggable and when I can I will be buying another top for it as it happens frequently. You should consider one too!

Good Day

Well, we got the car. Carplay doesn't work (dealer doesn't cover except for transmission and engine). So, we have an audio guy finding us a new one. Radio works - just no carplay. Radio in our dead van is too large. Then Nathan went to the mechanic that had our dead van. He had quoted us 4 to 6 grand to drop engine. He charged us 600. He felt bad for all we went through and he will get our business seeing our old mechanic is retired. Everything works in the newer van except carplay. It is a newer and nicer van with all the bells and whistles. Wish we could afford a new but it is okay with us and dogs. We are happy. It has been costly with a car rental, uber etc and to be honest, that 600 dollars for dropping the engine was a shock and made me realize there are good people in the world. What a costly ride this has been but it could have been worse. Now Nathan has changed the insurance. Need to go change the plates and figure out the carplay and it will be a distant memory. Now I have to groom myself to death to pay for this. LOL

Another good thing is Dennis is better. It was Nathan's day off and well he ran all over the place. He said what a day off but we have a car! Perspective and I didn't feel good not having a car with dogs. One more level of anxiety gone. 

It is our youngest daughter's birthday. She lives in North Carolina. We called and got her machine. We did our usual singing Happy Birthday and I guess I can sing so well - NOT that the dogs howled while we sang. As she is a huge dog person, she will laugh about that!

I shaved iced down and put chicken broth in it and the dogs emptied the bowls. They LOVED it!

The dogs are playing. They are so enjoying. It wasn't so hot and it wasn't so cold. Perfect!

As Nathan was running around doing errands, he brought us home a treat of Mary Browns. 

I was outside watering plants and dear Coco the pup was chasing the spray. She adores it. 

I clean eyes daily, look in ears and brush out any tangles. The dogs get a small treat. They literally line up with the exception of a couple. They are new comers and will get it. :-)

Going to try running with the dogs tonight. Think it is too soon for Dennis. Wish me luck!

Sunnier Times

Well, let's get this out of the way - they JUST now finished the van so on Nathan's day off, he will be ubering to the dealer to get it after they open. It took them from yesterday through today to figure it out. I so look forward to this being behind us. We still have to deal with the dead car but this is progress. 

Emmy so loves Nathan. She just fawns all over him. 

It was sunny and warm but not swimming temps. Oh well. I sat outside on the couch - yes outdoor couch and all the dogs were all over me. They like comfort too. 

Dennis is not 100% but he worked out on that bed most of the day. Let's hope he doesn't get sicker. I need him well for tomorrow. Is he ready to set seed? Nope. 

Dogs are having so much fun. Yes, all of them!!! Coco the maltese departed and I think she relishes bossing everyone around. She will miss it but now she can sleep in peace. Nothing like one on one with your family!

Can I take a nap. Why do you feel like napping when you are stressed? 

It's a Day

Dennis has today off and he was better but now crawled back in bed. It was cool outside and he sat outside watching movies on his ipad and the dogs hung out with him too. 

While Nathan napped, Dennis and I sat with the dogs and watched a terrible tv show. Then when Nathan got up, I got back to grooming. 

We had a pour down of rain today. Mabel doesn't like rain. Her and I got caught outside when the rain came down. Nathan was sleeping. She looked like I was going to make her walk through shark infested water. I did coax her in while I got soaked. I could have picked her up but wanted to show her it was just rain. When it rained later, she had less of a reaction. Progress. 

Apryl still hates her mouth being cleaned

It wasn't warm enough to swim. I was mostly grooming or alone with dogs. Nathan had to return the rental and uber home. Then we got a call from the dealer for our van that the air bag would not deploy and their mechanic only worked till noon and won't be back till tomorrow so no safety check pass. So, the mechanic will figure out the airbag and fix it and we may have the van tomorrow night but most likely not till Wednesday. We shall see. Makes me feel uneasy. Nathan had to cancel his cardiologist and reschedule his tests at the lab. It's okay. His blood pressure may be too high at the moment so best to wait. LOL

Cross your fingers that we get the van tomorrow. 

I am wearing a shirt that I made that says - Nope Nope not today. Remind me you have to laugh. 

I seriously want to crawl on to the couch with dogs and blankets - can I - will I get away with it? We shall see.

Sunday

Here is the gallery.

It rained. The sun came out and so did the wind. I played catchup on some of my dogs grooming. I took photos. Dennis is still sick - not covid. It would be hard to believe it was covid but you have to be careful. He doesn't go anywhere and it is very rare he answers the door but we test anyways. I am going crazy doing all that he does. It gives me appreciation for what he does and how deeply he loves the dogs. They look for him. 

I changed the bedding yesterday and the dogs went under the covers and we laughed and laughed. They did this for about 20 minutes. There is nothing like fresh cleaned sheets for humans and dogs and yes they appreciate the soft clean smell. 

The dogs are having steak tonight. Each time it is on sale, Nathan picks up some to get them enjoying. 

I did do a run game with the dogs as I knew Dennis was not up to it. I am not sure I was either but what do I expect. I need to get more into moving this body.

It is cooler today so no swimming and as I type the dogs are barking for their supper. Yes, they LOVE dinner.

Got to Play

Nathan has Coco and Hallie on him. He took off his shirt to swim and joked he will have a suntan of a dog. Will it be a Maltese or a Havanese. I laughed. Good to see his humour is here today.

Nathan went back in as the sun is gone. He will hibernate upstairs with a few dogs and Dennis is about to feed the crew. He's not entirely better but better than last night. He did prime me for - you may have to do the waters, dishes, pads etc as I may be in bed tonight. 

Despite all this, the dogs sat with Dennis outside and with Nathan. They are snuggling on the couch with me. I made pupsicles for the dogs and some of them liked them so much, I thought my hand was going missing. Really - everyone gets one - don't you know - always. 

Otto was the dog that wanted more of the cold treats. She got more. She was delighted. 

Maury thinks you need to play from morning till night cause it is FUN. Tanner and Logan has their groove and have managed to get all that soil all over the place. Fudge came in the door and on the top step he went. Got to laugh. I could go on but I need to help do tonight's dinner for the dogs.

This is Emmy who is starting to make friends here today. She arrived while we were out. We got back 10 minutes after drop off. <sigh>

Dennis thinks he has food poisoning. All I know is he is white as a sheet and vomiting and vomiting so he is in bed. Despite being sick, he stayed with the dogs while we looked for a used car. We still have to deal with the fried car and the costs to drop the engine. Wish we had started looking vs. thinking fixing was the best but how do you know. Good news, we found a loaded caravan with low mileage but we can't get it till Tuesday. We did all the preliminary stuff like a deposit, bank draft and all that fun stuff. Nathan must return the rental Monday so he will have to uber to the dealership which is not close and drive it home. One thing out of the way. The payment for the mechanic - we will figure that out. Dennis - hoping he feels better tomorrow. It is Nathan's day off so it will just be me if he is not. Personally I think he got sun poisoning as he worked on that back bed all day. We shall see. 

I took the photos today. I probably did a lousy job at it but it is what it is. 

Coco was a bossy pants today. Thank you for that as you made me laugh and laugh. 

We got a dog back called Marlie who they tell us that he was overprotective to the dad -he was keeping mom away from dad. We have had him now for a couple of weeks and can't duplicate it. He is happy go lucky so I don't get it. But we will find him the right home. He seems happy here. 

It looked like rain this morning and wonderful sun late this afternoon. 

Apryl DOES not like me to open her mouth. She does take her meds - no issue but anything else? Oh my and Old coco hates her face being brushed. I have challenges. But we are doing what we need to. Keke is a hugger - oh does that feel good. Jango runs to me when Jango sees me. How delightful. Tanner and Logan - oh my tv time with them the best. Maurey is staying - okay not but hey hey I am here and I needed that lately! I could go on but more tomorrow...

The dogs had a good day. 

My sister thing is overwhelming. I am losing weight. Oh well - clothes are baggy and we work through life obstacles. You have to! I need to win the lottery. Don't we all?

Darn Day

I don't know if I can say anything productive.

Just got told we owe 4500. for them taking the engine apart only to find out it was melted inside and they have NO clue why as it had oil in it. As a matter of fact it recently had an oil change. They now tell us it is not worth it to fix so we have to find money we don't have to find something used. Joy.

Dennis is pulling out riverstones to put between the flagstone steps so he can get the ground ready to set grass seed. That is what you see all around Panda as she loves fresh soil. LOL If she keeps going, I will have to wash her feet. Think she loves the smell of fresh soil. Thankfully no one else seems enamoured. It would be a mess if Coco did. She is too close to the ground and white. 

It is trying to rain all day. Ms Harlow has departed and so has another Coco. 

I washed a blanket - down filled comforter and got feathers everywhere as I suspect a dog ate a hole in it. So, I heated up my heatpress and put a heart designed htv patch on it. Who can buy another at the moment? I still have feathers in the laundryroom and my vacuum keeps choking. All I need is a dead vacuum so I literally picked up as much as I could and shoved it in the hole. 

You know with all this craziness, the dogs get us by not literally as we still have these stressors but they give us smiles.

On top of all this craziness, I have a sister that is terminal. It all comes at once.

But we hope to play as much as we can as rain is indeed coming. I have clean sheets and a waterproof blanket will have to go on top otherwise I will be cleaning sheets again. Make me laugh - I so need it!

Argh

I can't access anything Adobe so no resizing photos etc. I keep crashing and it never loads entirely.

Dogs are having fun. It is my day off.

They can't find an engine so they have to rebuild. This can take up to 10 days, we are told. This is adding up. Rebuilding an engine is 6 to 7 grand - oh boy. Lots of bad news lately but we will get through it. 

Dogs are playing. Sun is shining. Nathan is getting me Montana's wings so I have some enjoyment today. The dogs have been mauling me, kissing me and not allowing me to use the ipad. It is funny. 

I had an adorable photo of Maury and Coco the maltese. They so like each other. You will see it in the gallery.

I will try to add a photo later but as I have been trying to work on it the last hour or so, it is not looking good. Maybe Dennis will indulge me and explore it for me but he is playing a game with the dogs surrounding him. That takes priority. LOL

Dogs had fun. Dogs are departing and coming. No info on car as of yet. Life is so much fun - not.

But we have the dogs and they get us by.

Oh Let Me In

Here is the gallery.

We woke up to pouring rain and then more rain so by the time it stopped raining, I tried to take them out for an extended play session and they wanted in. It is Dennis day off. So while Nathan napped, I attempted to play like Dennis. No one is as silly as Dennis and the dogs LOVE silliness. It is about finding your inner child. Oh they chased me and ran, jumped and was gleeful but I almost tripped and started laughing so hard. The dogs looked at me as if I was a martian. But after much laughter, they wanted in. It looks like it is about to rain again. I need to take a photo of my cannas. They are huge and they were babies I had divided. They are loving the humidity, heat and rain.I do not believe most of the dogs enjoy humidity. Thankfully we have air conditioning. It is a reminder that some people don't so be aware and do something for neighbours that are in need of cooling.

The dogs do play indoors and you should see the play at bedtime. I am busy getting ready for bed and I have dogs whipping around me, jumping and playing purely to have fun. One would think they were tired at night but they expel energy every night just before we crawl into bed. 

I want to be a dog. They are a ball of fun!

Oh So Steamy

Dennis has finished pulling out all the plants that was setting seeds in the dogs coat. Ground is incredibly clay like despite rain. He has this bloody idea to put soil down, cast seeds and grow grass in that bed. We shall see where that goes. Me, I would just put riverstones down. He doesn't get that the weeds will come back and he will have to weed and weed. 

Dogs are feeling this humidity. I don't have that many photos. Dogs that are old are staying inside and using pads unless they want to go out. It is optional and many are opting for lazing indoors. We are always with them. 

I was going to swim but it was steamy and cloudy till Nathan got up from his nap so I am blogging, watching dogs and Dennis is outside awaiting our son so he can go to the movies with his brother. Nathan is swimming.

Soon the dogs will be eating. It will be bedtime and tomorrow is the end of the long weekend. How did that happen?

2 Blog Day

I have to say the most endearing moments today is watching Maury and his mom Spirit play. He leans against her in the chair and gives her kisses. Spirit was combed out this morning but due to Maury, she is a mess and I wouldn't have it any other way. Mom and son playing in a huge way!

Everyone has been playing. It is overcast - muggy but I like sun when I swim.

Mr. Oreo went for a swim on his own initiative and got out of the pool easily. He almost wanted to turn around and go in again but he didn't. Bath and blow dry was on the agenda after that.

Ms Gucci departed. Ms Pepper came for the day. Fudge arrives today.

Of all the dogs, Juno and Coco the maltese joined Dennis as he was pulling out plants that set seed and stick in the dogs coats. Well, guess what happened to those two with Coco getting more seeds on her as she was lower to the ground and get this - neither cared. I did as I had a mega comb out but plants are now gone and they are combed out. I am glad no one else felt the need to jump through the area or I may be still combing. Only the curious 2 having fun was seeded.

Everyone is acting as if they are having the very best holiday. Ms. Harlow laid on the top step of the pool. It seems to be her chosen method of cooling down.

Happy 2nd

Happy 2nd Birthday to our beautiful, gorgeous coat, super snuggler, champion ball chaser, the BEST sister and caregiver and overall super confident and fearless pup (except against her arch nemesis the smoke detector).  She received another week’s supply of 8 toy balls today and tonight will have beef tenderloin for dinner (which she will have to share with her sisters).

We ❤️ this special pup so much.

Long Weekends and Birthdays!

This is Newt before he went home to his momma to celebrate her birthday. Oreo is here and his father is celebrating his birthday. I hope it is a fun day for both!

Ms Gucci arrived and is playing with Otto as they are long best friends. hmmm Gucci departs tomorrow after her groom. Mr. Leo also departs. More dogs arrive. 

The dogs have had a truly outstanding day. Ms Coco laid on the pool step and got SOAKED. She was the only one. It has been a very hot day. Some went out for shorter periods of time as the weather was steamy. Some could care less. We made sure they were cool - had shade, ice water and of course air.

Some of the dogs ran through the brush having fun chase games.

It's long weekend. Can't find an engine it seems so Tuesday????

Dennis is about to play the fun game of running the halls in a few minutes. It is safer than doing it outside and they LOVE LOVE LOVE the game.

Hot Steamy Day

Here is Mocha. I was trying to get a photo of him. He moves so fast that you have to put him on the entry way to get a click of him.

It was very hot today. Dogs did go out many many times. Sometimes we clicked. Sometimes we simply played. This is one of the dogs that Coco the maltese found his back was mighty comfie. 

They are trying to find an engine. They still have not found. Another day of not knowing what is what/

We did a find the treat game today. Those that wanted to participate did and did really well with the game.

Mr. Ollie goes home late tonight if his parent's plane gets in on time. He will be excited to see them. I just finished grooming him. Mr. Maui and Maki arrived and departed today!

I lost my phone  and found out Apple care does not cover lost phones in Canada but does in the USA. Cute but Dennis found it in a not so obvious place but I should have been able to find it. Find My ceased working as it was dead and needed charging. I am pleased as we didn't need that. 

Dennis says he is going to take the dogs upstairs and run like crazy with them. It is too hot to do it outside.

The dogs - well they are enjoying Dennis and his games. 

I also have an ice chipper that takes ice and makes it in snowcone consistency. Put it in all the water dishes and I think they drank more than usual. We out ice in frequently but never tried slush and it was popular!

Dear Darlah and Nathan,

I hope this message finds you well. As we celebrate our Kandoo's second birthday, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the amazing puppy you brought into our lives. Your dedication and care in breeding have given us a wonderful companion who has brought immense joy and love to our family.

I also want to extend my sincere thanks to my puppy's mother, Spirit , whose nurturing and love have shaped our incredible pup. It's funny to think that Spirit, a wonderful dog herself, has given us such a precious gift.

Happy birthday to our beloved puppy Kandoo and a special happy birthday to her  littermate, Maury!

Hi Darlah and Nathan here is a pic of Maury on his second Birthday.  We visited REN's Pets today and Maury picked out some yummy treats.  For dinner Maury is getting a delicious steak.  Then we are having a little doggie party for him with his friends from the neighbourhood.  Thank you for bringing Maury into our lives.  He is a kind soul with a real enthusiasm for life. Sorry - its been a day. Too much stress about car and now my tummy is completely off kilter so short it is tonight. Dennis was off. I had grooming. I was going to prep a dog tonight but may have to get up early and do him in the morning. I don't think I can pull it off to even prep tonight. 

I feel rude as someone wanted someone's number and I wasn't up to finding it. I usually can get past something or work through it. This time it is tough so bear with me.

Dogs ran and played and had a lot of fun. Coco the maltese is barking for her dinner and bossing the dogs around. She does it in such an unsincere way that I think the dogs laugh but she keeps trying.

Dogs came - dogs departed. It was hot and they truly had an outstanding day despite me.
