Early Morning and Afternoon Play

Here are some photos that Dennis took first thing this morning. New photos added tonight. I have a dog to do today. We have someone dropping off things to make the baskets for rescue. Thanks goes to Leo's mom for all the great ribbons and items to help make the baskets pretty. I have the rest to comb out and I will be resting with the dogs in case I have to pull an all nighter. 

I also want to thank Magic's mom for her donation to rescue. People will love it!

Dogs are having fun. Tiny is visiting for the day and Magic is getting a bath and trim. 

Did not sleep that well last night as Adele was panting. Just think she is getting to that uncomfortable stage. Nathan has already moved into the guestroom so both of us aren't pulling all nighters.

UPDATE:

Everyone is now home 'cept Murphy so it's mighty quiet here. Can you imagine. This was tiny and Daisy. I have updated the gallery to include their fun play. You will also see Saffron's dirty face. 

Havanese can have masks or they can pick up colour from food and or drink that has minerals in it. I don't mind it either way and find it attractive. Of course its very hard to distinguish from a mask or mineral content on the face. Sun can also fade out coats so you will often see richer colours in winter. 

Well, today I got a nap in in case Adele graced us with pups. It is very hard to get a nap in around this place and I may have caught 15 minutes but kept getting woken up. Oh well, better than nothing.

I got to bathe and do a cut on Magic. She gets trimmed up to keep her ends healthy. I am impressed at how well they take care of her hair. They like it long so a comb out daily does it. 

Two Updates Today

Dennis held down the fort while we were at the vets. He managed to capture the fun. He said everyone really had a lot of wet fun. He had washed the floors for me and today - well... one wonders why you try.

Dirty Tales

Well, I did bathe everyone - seriously - groomed too but it rained and well dirt attaches like magnets especially with pups as they are so close to the ground. Not many photos today. Did capture Murphy too. You didn't expect her to stay clean now did you?

Did finish the whelping area and got my emergency kit packed and in the car. It gets unloaded after the vet visit so no updates today on the moms blogs but tomorrow you will see updates in both.

Blogs will be late as we do not expect to be back home till 6 or 7pm. We shall see how the traffic is. 

Dogs have been having fun. It's just a little dirty out there. Oh well - best made plans...

Rescue

Thank you goes to Lori, Roger, Scruffy and Pepper for their great rescue donation for our baskets at the national in November. Last donations taken will be the end of October and then I have to figure out how to create the baskets. :-)

Pictured above is Holly living the life and getting thinner by the week (which was necessary). George, her owner says he is getting thinner too from all the walks.

We have a VERY busy day. On my to do list is photos for Christine. I will get to it and updating the list of supplies online. Nag me please as I need it with my list.

Woofstock & More

Sorry but updates will be late tonight. I am dematting. Woofstock was fun with those that made the trek down. It wasn't as good - even remotely than past years - meaning where were all the great vendors? I only bought a thermometer and 1 bag of treats and a pair of sweats.

People comment that they never see Kat or Truffie play but they do. It is all about catching the moments. Where's that camera?

I am busy knocking that 'to do' list down so most of these photos in today's gallery were taken by Dennis.

Dogs are having a blast except when I am washing some of them. 

Still haven't decided who we are bringing to Woofstock but I can't wait. Hope to see you there. 

Tonight I am one tired person. 

Scruffy, Pepper, Murphy and Dusty dropped in. It's a fun house. Everyone rather enjoyed each other. 

Quiet Day

Teddy departed. Dolly dropped in to play for the day and Daisy is lazing around on the pool stairs, on the deck chairs. Maxine dropped in for a grooming. Can't wait till Simba gets here tonight and mixes it all up. It's quiet - well for here. Here is today's gallery. 

Everyone had a blast. I even got a mini swim in. Next week the pool closes. Well they say first week of October. Going to miss the pool but I suspect I will be busy with puppies.

We emptied out kitchen cabinets, sealed up any holes to avoid mice getting in. We lined the cabinets and put everything back. 

Sunday we get a couple of tropicals in that needs to go into my office and then we set up the room. 

Got more on the 'to do' list but Adele is already getting milk in. Monday I start taking her temperature. Then I will be posting daily updates of her temps on her blog.

Fun in the Sun

We had a blast. Raylan, Mac and Monty has gone home. WE had a visit with Steven and My this afternoon. It was good to see each other and then we went for a quick swim. Not sure how many more days we will have but our pool is closing the 1st week of October. I will miss it trememdously. If I hear anymore about how the heat is going up in the air I will scream as its my only escape and holiday where Nathan has his with the guys in November so......

What a Fun Day

We have Steven's and My's 3 here till tomorrow. Ziggy departs anytime now and Dolly, PJ and Lucy dropped in for play just for the day. Everyone had a TOTAL blast. Here's a large gallery. Sorry no time to delete so if some are blurry - ignore and go to the next one.

Dogs were silly, crazy, sedate and silly again. It was a blast to just watch, be a part of and capture.

Chase Is On

Truffie played a great game of chase with the little ones today. It was a riot. Here is today's gallery. Not much as I am knocking out my to do list. I am down to #21 from 23. hahahaha

Today we had Raylan, Mac and Monty drop in to hang out. They are having such a great time!

Wish I had more photos but I seem to be the only one clicking and I have to to it between what I am doing.

French doors (both sets) are DONE. Dennis took off paint on the windows and well I had to play touchup today. That was an added bonus. It happens. They are now done as much as they will be done. Nathan was going to paint walls after repairing a few spots but I think I will be putting photos up to hide those spots till spring. Unless he starts and does it for a week from morning till night it is not happening and besides spring is better as we don't want lingering paint in the house with moms to be. 

Hope to see you at Woofstock. It's a meet at 930am this Saturday. Looks like so far the weather will cooperate. If you need directions you will see it on the ride side. We are bringing Saffron and either Spice or Ella. We haven't figured each one. We only like to bring two as it is easier to negotiate that way.

I am in the midst of doing my next project - my closet- and it won't get done today but maybe tomorrow. We shall see. I groom in-between so it slows me down. Why a closet? Well I can't find anything. Cooler weather is coming and due to pups I can't be spending time trying to find something to wear. I hate this job more than anything. Oh well. Back to it in a few minutes

Dogs are out back running like banshees with Dennis and Nathan. I hope I get relax time before bed. I have potentially 11 days till puppies. Oh my gad!

Tackle Time

Here's today's photos that Dennis took. The dogs had a TON of fun. It was mighty wet outside from the rain last night but the sun managed to get out. It never warmed up enough to swim but everyone managed to have a good time. 

I had to do some serious grooming. So I got to see NO ONE and NO ONE got to see me at the door. heh

Patches was over and was having such a blast. It was great to see.

Moms had tummy aches so bum cleanups and well serious brush outs of dogs of mine that didn't get to be done as I was doing staining. I have to laugh. I did visitors and mine went to .... but I played catch-up. 

I had plans to tackle my closet but never did get to it. Tomorrow I will for sure after two groomings. Nathan and I realized next weekend is Woofstock then xrays then pups. Oh boy that to do list is getting scary. Down to 20 from 22. hahahahaha

Tomorrow I must get serious. Till then, I will go watch tv, brush dogs out while we are watching and try to relax.

Not much of a blog tonight but all I could muster. Dogs are doing really great. The two Ozzies depart tomorrow and we will miss them.

No Update Day

It's wet. It's rainy and well we are taking a break. The human says tomorrow we all get to be combed out. We are hoping we don't look like mangie what have yous but the human thinks we do. Okay, we are cute but that human just wants to brush and brush us and well it's futile. So - here's to tomorrow.

PS: deep down the dogs really like getting a muddy mess. I swear they are like 2 year olds and deep down I rather love them all for it!

Two Updates Today

Here's today's gallery.

Well the French doors (2 sets) are ALMOST finished. They are hung and we are trying to get stain off windows without scraping the glass or stinking up the place as we have moms to be in the house. Now to figure out who can cut some plexiglass or if there is something else I can put on the doors clear to protect them from dog scratches. 

I can't believe this project is almost done. On Monday I start in on my closet. Then after that I get the office turned back into a puppy nursery. I really need to get some nice fat baby comforters or are they called quilts? I am looking for used as they are much cheaper so if you see or hear of someone selling used, please let me know.  I am going to try to get to the baby consignment shop as my fat fluffy ones that the newborns adore are rather falling apart. So that is on my to do list as well. So much to do, so little time. 

An angel came to my much needed break and we went for lunch. Thank you, Lynda! We also got in a quick swim before the sprinkles and cool set in. Ella, Kat, Inula and Roxie jumped in while all the dogs ran around like crazies barking. Because we are respectful of our neighbours we put the barkers inside. Someone asked me if I always control who is out there with the pool. The answer is yes but only when we are swimming. It's the only time they take grand delight in barking their fool heads off when Nathan jumps in. The poor things can't help themselves. 

Then after that, Roxie had to be dried as she was shaking. It cooled down. I had to do Ella, Kat and well Inula was 99% dry by the time I got to her. So much for relaxing in the afternoon. 

But I may have a gin and tonic to celebrate one project almost complete. 

I am not sure how to explain it but if I ever have another set of doors to sand and stain, I think I will drink a vat of something and put myself out of misery. I had so many ooops, drips, scrapes, repairs - and deep gouges from the dogs scratching that if they do it again it will actually make more sense to buy new and stain vs. what I did. But what does this have to do with dogs? Well I was doing this project as dogs scratch when gals are in heat. 

We did have a good time but I didn't click in the morning as I was doing touchups as soneone moved the doors (argh) and then I watered plants, got the pool ready, gathered all the &*^% I had out there staining. I took down xpens that I used to keep dogs away from the doors and all the stuff. I have my deck back now and so do the dogs - hooray!

Then when we swam I was actually in the pool vs clicking photos. Sorry. Then I was drying and combing out dogs and while I was at it did the rest. So, I earned that drink - well I think so.

Now I am blogging and I am ready for bed. Time to snuggle with dogs.

Fun Play

Something about passionate play that gets my heart beating an extra beat. I so love it and Dolly and Ozzie was having a truly grand time but so was everyone else. Check out the photos from today. The son took all the photos. :-) I was staining doors - still.

They play, they rest. Everyone seems to come to life with the warm weather. Then when we get the safety pool cover on they will be running across that. It's like a trampoline and they so love it. It's the old style safety cover so its heavy and truly safe. In spring when they open it up 4 guys stand on it and scrub it down before rolling it up. 

So no matter what the weather, we still manage to have fun. When it's pouring outside we run up and down the halls playing fetch. It's a riot and the dogs love it!

We all had a blast - even me staining but watching the fun. I will be glad when it is done so my deck can become just a deck again.

Too Tired

I am so tired I think I am slurring my words - no lie. Ever been punch drunk without a bit of liquor in you? That's me. Tomorrow I get to sand my mistakes, do the 2nd coat and then I am hopeful I will varnish. My goal is still to hang doors on Friday. 

Then on Saturday I am going to the Canadian Pet Expo for a quick look and see.

Today we had Christine and Clarity over and I noticed everything is Christine. It's ever so nice but her spirit was elevated with the sight of mommy Panda. She came and gave me hugs plenty but when Mommy left that is who she was focused on. She's made the complete leap. It's nice to see how happy she is.

Thank you for the fruit, Christine and the donation to rescue. Really really appreciated!. Wish I was more awake and hopefully I was not out of it too much. I swear I have stain in my nostrils or the smell of it.

I am still dealing with a leg cramp off and on. Fun... not.

I wish it was the start of the swimming season as I would love to do thsi again when I am awake.

Here is today's galley. Not great photos as I find when I am too tired I don't pay attention so much to settings. 

I thought tonight I will do the sanding and another coat but not a chance. I may crawl on to the couch after drying Roxie and Adele as they are still wet from swimming. Nathan brushed them out but they indeed need to be dried.

Slim Day Today

Just received this in the mail. This is Pacho. Isn't he cute? This is Spicy's brother. I love that he loves his dolly. Oh you adorable cutie!

Ozzie is visiting and he's maturing. He just loves to play and play and they love to play with him. It's so nice to have him visiting us this week.

Well, here is today's gallery. It's EXTREMELY short as I have been very busy. I had Marlee, Jazmyn and Murphy to get bathed up and ready to go home.

I had French doors to sand and oh my gad is it a job. Now the glass is getting taped up (2 sides per door) and hand sanding all the grooves are happening tonight. First thing tomorrow I hope to have 1 coat on them. I think my arm is still vibrating. So camera taking was not a priority even though Dennis played like silly with them. I was afraid if I stopped I would not finish sanding. I really want to be done by Friday. We shall see. It's that tedious hand sanding all the creases and grooves that doesn' thrill me. 

Tomorrow we also have Clarity and Christine coming over so that will give me a welcomed break. I am hoping first thing in the morning I will get one coat of stain done. Then maybe another tomorrow night if I am lucky. 

Moms are doing well. I just can't do updates as I am too exhausted and still have a ton to do.

Baths and All That

It was warm today but after 2 days of the pool being off - brrrr so no swimming here. We are hoping tomorrow for sure!

Panda and Teddy had a bath today. Both really needed it. 

Here is today's gallery. You will see just groomed. haven't been groomed and well we are having fun photos. Tomorrow Jazmyn, Marlee and Murphy get a bath and I start sanding my doors so galleries may be sparse. We shall see. I am running out of time so I must begin right after grooming/baths in the early morning. I so do not want to do it but I so need to. I will be glad when it is done. I am hoping by Friday I have completed it but we shall see.

The dogs LOVED being outdoors today. When it was raining the last couple of days, they preferred the couch and watching tv and every now and then they ran like banshees plowing everything in their sight out of the way. It's so funny but oh cleanup can be interesting. I am glad rain is not slated till Saturday and I hope they are wrong about that too.

Ziggy likes clean dogs. Whenever I wash one he just falls crazy for them. It must be the smell. I just laugh. For dogs everything is about the smell.

Christine and Clarity are supposed to come for a swim Wednesday. I am hoping the weather is grand. The pool should be back up to 90 by then. 

I am going to do belly shots today of the gals. Roxie's is there but not so big and Adele's is larger. You will see. It makes sense looking at their dates. In 2 weeks we get xrays. Wow...
