Last Sunday in July

The summer is going by way too fast.

Dennis has a migraine but is trying to work through it. He has lots to do tonight. He will finish the xpen for Willow, add the temperature controllers, heatlamp, camera etc. He wants to do his run tonight with the dogs but he is waiting till the sun goes down. It is still hot so the dogs are layimg all over Nathan and well chasing cardinals that live in our yard. We have had a pair for as long as we have lived here. They can easily get away from the dogs but the dogs sure have fun trying.

As I type, the dogs are hanging outside seeing it is cooler with Nathan and Dennis. Me, I am blogging.

Nothing Like the Runs

Riley is here after her spay so you may see her sporting her cool onesie. We take it off while she is on the couch at tv time. When you are doing the onesie, remember to comb out DAILY. That is what I will be doing.

Mr. Ollie who is photographed above thinks he is the king of all he surveys. It makes me laugh.

Despite the lack of sleep Dennis had, he ran with the dogs. If they miss a day of running, tehy are after him as if to say - really not today? It happens on teh odd day but he plays something different with them. The run game though is entirely the most desirable. 

The dogs had a great time. They are eating a tad late - just now vs 430. Got to mix it up some.

Thank you to Dorothy fir dinner tonight. Spirit is taking her time and we all need and want sleep. Nathan said he crashed for his nap. T hank you from Brodie's parents for a lovely bracelet she made herself and chocolate cake. Really special and thank you!

Mini Update

Here is a small gallery.

With 2 pups departing, all we could manage was a mini gallery but Dennis did a few games with them. They have been inside and outside playing. They had a great time. Everyone gets along ever so well.

Now Dennis is heading to bed to get ready for Tempie Puppy Duty tonight. He had little sleep and need a few hours to pull off tonight.

We are on watch for Spirit's pups. Otherwise it is TV time with Nathan while I type and more outdoors before bed. 

Tomorrow Jasper and Benji depart and a couple arrive.  Now to check Spirits temps and update that blog and then ice my knee.

Short Blogging It

When sometimes the dogs play they appear to look like they are dancing. It's such a fun look. 

Today we have siblings here - Ollie and Lachlan and seriously it is hard to tell them apart. I may let them both out to the front dor when Lachlan is picked up and see who gets more excited. LOL Just teasing but boy do they resemble each other. Lachlan is here for the day and Ollie (we have 3 Ollies at the moment) is staying for a few weeks.

It is the long weekend so it is busy. 

Spirit had her xrays today. 

It poured this morning and voila the sun is out and it is steamy. That seems typical this summer season. Pups have had baths that are departing tomorrow and they are about to get steamy outside playing as I type. 

It's Play and Hanging Out

I am so late tonight as so much to do for pups to go home and Nathan was at the doctor and is now on antibiotics for his knee infection. 

We had new visitors here for overnight and just play. Everyone had a blast. 

Me, I am trying to finish puppy stuff - having fits with my printer, my knee - about to give up - get ready for xrays for Spirit tomorrow. Just juggling so blogs will be short. 

We did manage to have a ton of fun.

Long Day Sorry Late

Long day doing so many things including grooming. 

Here is a small gallery.

The dogs have fave spots and Alfie is coming out of one. Everyone likes this spot. So if you have a table with a shelf or platform - whatever you want to call it underneath, the dogs will love this spot.

They also love anything up high and open door crates. They have their spots that they like the most.

The dogs got to play with the pups and it was perfect weather. Think Nathan soaked his leg but I didn't catch a breath and I still have lots to do so short blogging. I also have to get ready for pups departing in a couple of days. I am partially ready but had to order last minute items. 

Koda and Harlow depart tomorrow. Missed beyong belief. I have not looked at the calendar - those 2 were on my grooming list for departures. Is it a long weekend coming up?

Cooler Daze

Someone has to be on watch at all times of the day. LOL

We had a cooler day after the storm hit last night with lightening, thunder and huge hail. The dogs couldn't go out at bedtime as they would have been pelted. One wonders why we do pads and outdoor training. There is a reason. 

Today it felt refreshing with a slight breeze. It was the kind that you want to open all your windows for fresh air but can't do that with wee pups. 

Dogs were delighted with the weather. We had Tenshi, Buddy, Ty and Ellie depart. Tomorrow Barney departs and Emmy arrives. I also believe Winston is here for the day. Wednesday Koda departs. What a ball of fun will be missing here. Oh my gad she needs a bath. LOL

Dogs were in shape to do running games with Dennis today as it was so nice out. Yes, I miss the pool but this was a nice change for the dogs and for me too. Heat will come. Summer is not over yet!

Rain Then Sun

There is a theme going on this summer. Rain then sun heated up. Dogs played indoors for the most part this morning then were outside hanging out in various places.

A few are going home today. It's been a busy summer and welcomed. I am glad people are getting away and their dogs are vacationing too. 

TV time is a hoot. Love the dog snuggles and Nathan does too. 

Lots of Play

The dogs were playing like crazy. It was an absolutely hot day. They found the air was inviting but also went out many times a day. 

Dennis did the hide the treat game. He also did a run game upstairs. They so adore both games but I think the run one is the fave. Can you blame them? Even wee pups like that one!

Got to Play

Everyone is having a ball but I tell you the humans are trashed. Dennis is working on about 4 hours sleep but things to do. The rest of us doing all that we normally do plus pups. Got to laugh. 

So, this won't be a long blog but the dogs have been really playing up a storm. Harlow decided she would lay on the steps today that have water on them. I went to grab my camera and she just sauntered off.  She did not swim. She just cooled herself off. 

No one else went in the pool. Nathan has a banged up knee. Yes, you heard that right so he sat in the pool today. I have been unable to. Last night Nathan went to bed at 945. I was still finishing up at 1045. Hoping me and the dogs go to bed earlier. LOL

We did manage game time and running though Dennis looked like he ran in slow motion. It will get better as we adjust. 

We have some truly outstanding players here at the moment. The dawgs - all of them are having a blast. Good for them!

Very Hot Day

Dogs are not happy about the heat. They said at one point it felt like 111f. Vivi held up her foot - an indicator too hot so we are going out for 5 minute or less. We have water dishes cold everywhere.

We are doing short blogs today as pups need to go to vet and Dennis is off. We are also on Tempie watch. 

Just know the dogs are having fun inside. I am thinking up games and entertaining their brains. 

Oh Boy That Heat

It is really hot. Poor dogs simply can't stay out that long and we have ice in bowls. We do many many small stints outside. It is too hot. Thank you that we have air conditioning. The poor dogs would be miserable and well face heat issues. We only had the pups out for a small amount of time. They will be going upstairs to play as its too hot. When they have their tongues out to their knees - well not literally but you know what I mean, you MUST listen and not put your dogs in danger. 

The smart dogs would go out and then stand at the door. Really - are you kidding?

So we played a ton inside. They say tomorrow will be like this. Maybe Thursday?

Dogs really like the shade. Me too. 

Did get swimming in. Knee is not in excruciating pain like yesterday. Iced it 4 times and wearing my brace. I am determined to get this to heal. Nathan did something idiotic - well we all do that sometime in our life. He went to brush some crumbs off the burner and it was hot. He now has this mega blister. 

We have air. I said that already - but we have air. The dogs and us are way thankful. Plus the Maisels brought us Purdy's chocolate covered cherries. Wow - thank you. 

What a Weather Day

Rain then clouds then downright muggy and hot as I type.

I went to see a specialist today for the knee. He manipulated it in such a way that I am in agony. How foolish of me. I was hoping for a cortisone shot but he said that only deceives you and then you will damage it more so best to do tylenol 1s when the pain is real bad and Aleve and more Aleve. No more walking over xpens. No more running marathons - me, I don't do such stuff. Ice several times a day. Don't allow it to get stiff but do not overdo. Pillows under leg. Raised position as much as I can. Exercises to strengthen after pain subsides completely. He tells me it is a Grade II but really almost a Grade III and I will need surgery but we are avoiding that. I went back in as I couldn't handle the pain and to be honest, I had a temporary status of stupidity. Yep, that's me. So, if I looked stoned, I may be pouring gin and tonics for myself night and day. Yes, I am laughing. the dogs know something is wrong as they are licking my knee all night long. They seem to take turns. This too shall pass but I have no patience for 5-6weeks. Whine, whine, whine - so sorry. 

Think I will go lay in the pool and see if the crabby me goes away. The dogs and I. Dennis said too hot for an outdoor run.

Busy Times

No matter how crazy it gets, the dogs always manage to have fun.

Nathan said I have such a backache and neck ache and leg ache. I do not understand. I said its sleeping with the dogs. LOL I did laugh.

Ella did not go swimming with Nathan today - her choice. Now that is interesting. 

I thought my washer was broken. It seems I put stuff in it that was too jam packed. oh oh Got told off for that. So laughing. Can't have dogs and pups coming without a washer. 

It seems to be glorious for playing early in the day and by afternoon it is downright scorching. 

The dogs are playing hard and well look like their messiness is earned despite combing out. 

I had a long day of grooming. Tomorrow is my day off so I am doing Lexi just before bed so Nathan can spruce her up tomorrow. Rain they say but a day off is a day off. 

Saturday Mid June With Dogs

Alfie is a strong swimmer.

He's not crazy about going in but once in he swims and swims.

Simba departed. No more puppy play for him. The pups and us will miss him. Thunder is supposed to go home tonight.. Tomorrow Juno and Leti depart after grooming and baths. Monday is my day off and they say rain. 

The dogs are funny running like banshees in the morning and when it gets hot either walking on the stairs of the pool or lazing. 

Jasper is having a magnificent time trying to capture birds along with a few others but Jasper is so into it he is often seen face plowing trying to out maneuver them. Jasper tends to get the others into the game too but he is most physical about it. You may see in the gallery his dirty face but don't worry - when done we clean it off. A dog has to have fun, you know!

Ms Olive is still a diva. She makes me laugh. TV time neck brace. As it was Nathan's day off yesterday, Dennis and I watched Dark in the tv room. We were slathered with dogs. Funny trying to read the screen. 

Milo is here and its been a long time. Wow what a magnificent coat and he is really having a great time!

Cooler Than Hot

Well, Tempie had her vet visit. You will have to see her blog to see what's up.

Pups earlier and how many?

The dogs are finding this weather interesting. It's cool in the morning and about now strikingly hot. Nathan is swimming today. I will swim tomorrow as it is his day off. I vow to swim daily till pups.

Global here on Bayview/Major Mackenzie is having a customer appreciation day tomorrow. There are big savings. We are going to try to go. We shall see. 

Dogs had plenty of fun. Dennis played the bottle game with them where he puts treats in bottles and they have to bang them to spin and spill out. 

Olive arrived today and was eating as if she was starving. We have ground beef added to their food tonight - yum for them!

We have a full house this weekend. We like it. The dogs like it as they get new dogs - or haven't seen for  bit to play with. Life is good! I still have a few to groom and Simba departs tomorrow. Boy has he enjoyed the puppies.

Hanging Out

The dogs are having fun. No swimming. Nathan's day off tomorrow so maybe and Tempie has xrays. Her belly shots are on her page. 

They supposedly fixed one pipe and have to figure out the rest but if this one holds, we can swim and just wait for them to fix the rest. He left us a note and we didn't see him. Said not to test till 630 for it to cure. 

As it wasn't too hot today the dogs spent a lot of outside time with one of us. 

Ms Harlow departs tonight, Murphy departed earlier. Her mom brought me new blankets for the upcoming pups and Dairy Queen banana split without the banana. Yum! Thank you!

Tomorrow Maddie departs. Ms Olive arrives plus a few others. Mr Bonham came for a day visit and enjoyed himself immensely. Katie was here for the day. 

Pups are crying to go out - a 1st and I need to ice my knee while I watch them.

Play Play Play

The dogs have played inside when the rain arrived and outside when it subsided. They are totally smart. If it is raining, they head for under the gazebo. 

Harlow keeps hanging her head over the pool and we have to remind her that without the pool getting fixed (where are they?) she may be cold if she decides to go in. We won't.

It is Dennis day off so he will not be doing the run game tonight. He is busy playing VR games. Can you blame him? I can't. We all need a day off. Days off will be short lived with pups coming. 

The dogs really love when Dennis VR mats come out. He has his headset on and they just run around on the mats like banshees. It's a riot. One wonders how he can play a game but he does. 

I have to laugh. As I watched the play, I noticed Daisy is the referee. Yes, she plays but she also controls the play. They keep playing. It's as if she is the coach. LOL

Rain and Not

It rained. It didn't. When it didn't it was hot. Still no pool. Dogs had a delightful time today. I had a full day of grooming but Nathan caught me playing with the puppies - which is rare as it is usually me behind the camera or Dennis.

Simba was in playing or shall I say sniffing the puppies. It was nice to see. He cries to go in to say hello. 

Rusty, Luna, Lachlan and Murphy arrived today. 

It was a grand day for all and it's not over.

Not Many Today

What a hot day this is/was. Not many photos as we had to go buy a chainsaw for Dennis to cut all the trees down that he already has all over our front lawn.

Our pool is leaking so we await till they can come. Of course Nathan added pool water as it was low and now the water is downright cold. I got in up to my waist and gave up. Ella was the only one that went swimming with Nathan. Her tummy is getting big but she has this passion for the pool. She is managing swimming quite well still.

Harlow didn't try to wade in the pool. 

I am going to finish the blogs and go sit outside with the dogs. Yes - the dogs are really having fun!

Leti was playing full on with the pups today. How nice!
