Happy 2

Hi Nathan and Darlah,

Our Fudge is 2 years old today - it’s difficult to even imagine how our lives were before he came into it with his enthusiastic hop, skip and jump greetings, nudges to play-fetch-run and his addiction to sleeping ON us ( not without a blanket though)

Thank you for bringing him into our lives - we will forever be grateful to you and Ella for that  ! Happy mommy birthday Ella ! 

Also wishing his siblings for their birthday - Maki, Moose, Nika and Hazel - hope you all are having a treat-astic day !!!!

A Day

It's been another day. Nathan spent a lot of time scrambling. He had no choice to get the van moved to another mechanic as his mechanic of 40 years was closing tomorrow - retiring for good. Nathan got an uber to take him to Enterprise and was told no vehicle was available. He called before he called the uber and they did say they had 1. They finally found one for him at a different location but no one was available to drive him there. He walked for 30 minutes as the uber service told him 20 to 30 minutes. Enterprise told him it was a 10 minute walk, It wasn't. I guess when he arrived they were concerned for him as he didn't look good. Then they told him they were not sure if a car was available as there was 3 people ahead of him but he could wait and see if they got returns. Eventually they did. He went back via the rental to the mechanic and emptied out the van and called CAA to bring it to another mechanic. He left the keys and CAA showed up and refused to take it as he wasn't there. He called CAA again telling them he told them he wouldn't be there and they never told him he had to be. They said they will be there in 4 minutes so you need to be there for the tow guy. It took him 6 minutes. You don't want to know how he got there as it usually takes 12 minutes - according to Waze. LOL The old mechanic said he will be here in 2 minutes - don't leave. He told him if he wasn't, he would be leaving. Oh boy. Then he arrives, the tow guy demanded his license, his insurance, his ownership papers. He has never had to go through this and our name is on the plate. The guy was terribly rude. The new place said the van arrived but he refused to put it where they wanted so they could put it up on a lift to look at it. They got their employees to push it to where they needed it to be. They are complaining to CAA and Nathan complained as well. They need to find an engine, get costs for engine, delivery and labour costs. Dealership is 185 an hour for labour. They are 100 an hour for labour. It will take days to fix and of course finding an engine may be interesting and they may have to get it from New York. They don't know yet. This new place started in business the same as our mechanic started 40 years ago. He did their overage - too busy for you people. So - we wait till tomorrow to find out. I am afraid to hear. Of course the rental is 119. (cheapest he could get) as day plus gas. Oh well....

This was my day off. It actually sucked. Didn't do anything I wanted nor had the time and ate lousy chicken nuggets from Costco and they were awful. Dennis day off is tomorrow - busy grooming - Nathan's Friday - Thursday I am busy grooming - tomorrow and Friday too. I guess it is a long weekend as we are busy?

Despite all this the dogs snuggled with me. Enjoyed ice water - need more ice trays. It was humid today. Dennis is waiting for rain so he doesn't have to water. Me, I am waiting for bed. Never want to be in this position again but you can't control life. Dogs get us by.

Newt goes home Friday so Sue must be somewhat better. I am so hoping. I know she misses him but shhh he has had the time of his life. He will be tired when he goes home - perhaps comotose for a day but that may be better for mom. We will miss him.

Dogs came - dogs departed and more arrive tomorrow. Think Ollie goes home soon and he has earned every bit of his play time. Marli loves him too and well Marli loves everyone so far. 

It's been a day. This is all so carthatic. Sorry for the complaining but its eating me alive and helps to talk about it!

Awful Day So Small Blog

Just got called to say our van is not worth fixing. The engine died. Only had but one vehicle thinking 1 was okay. Guess not. Don't have the $$ for a new car so looking used but looks like slim pickings at the moment. Got to get our entertainment system out of it by Wednesday. Too much. Nathan has to get over there to get the stuff out of it. Last month we had it detailed. Can't believe our luck. 

Dogs are good. They are playing. Got my groomings done today. Tomorrow was my day off and was supposed to go out with a friend but they had to cancel. Could drink all day but the dogs would not appreciate it but it is my day off. LOL

We have a great group of dogs here that genuinely like each other. I need to get out of this funk. Oh, I so do.

You will see in the gallery that dogs are running and playing.

Something is digging in my tomato pot. Dennis got bit by a bug he's not sure what it was. It's raised, sore and went black. hmmm

What can I say - it's been a day. Glad I have Nathan and the dogs...

It is All in the Play

Many departed - a few arrived and the play was amazing today. It was hot. They chilled. We filled dishes with ice cubes. They loved it. 

Thank you to Tenshi's mom and dad for getting me Tide Pods. I ran out and I wouldn't have been able to do laundry. I do about 4-6 loads a day so in a few days that would have been fun. So - deeply appreciated.

Everyone here really likes each other. Harlow laid on top of Ella and she let her. I so laughed.

It has been a wonderful day with the dogs!

Hot and Event Filled Day

Marli is in the front and Benji in the back. We had 3 Benji's here. Can you believe how popular the name is?

The dogs have been playing in a huge way. Harlow has taken a shine to Marli. Haven't a clue why. She is just mighty attentive. What a heart Harlow has. Both these dogs arrived today and they have not stopped playing with someone or other. 

We have no car. Van 2 days in a row died. It is now sitting at the mechanics. No rental as they are closed till Monday. We ordered from Costco. 

I did finally manage to get in the pool and came inside as it was too hot. 

It has been a day but between Nathan crabby, no van, and much grooming, I am going to find me a couch with dogs.

Dawgs Just Want to Have Fun

Dogs just wanting to have fun and that they did today.

It was Nathan's day off. He had an adventurous day. He had to go to a club meeting (never made it) and at Brock Road he stopped on the ramp and the car died. What did he notice? Lots of gum melted at the side of the road and a 407 guy stopped to offer help and 1 person he said out of over 100 cars he counted. He waited for CAA. They charged him extra for the tow as he was too far for the tow and he was told by our mechanic that it won't be till Monday or Tuesday so he went across the street to rent a vehicle from Enterprise. He went back to the mechanic and he said it will be done in 2 hours so back to Enterprise to return the car and they didn't charge him a thing after hearing the story. How nice is that? He missed his nap. He plans to still take one after the dogs have dinner with whomever wants to go and did manage a swim. I just groomed. LOL I groomed and called CAA

Dennis took photos. The son came by and mowed the lawn. I am typing a blogf and we are about to feed the dogs. I still have not eaten. 

Weather is good. 

I bought a swimsuit from Australia that is the most comfortable suit I ever had. Too bad summer will end way too soon. Tonight I cut down 3 dogs and tomorrow I will finish their grooming. Maybe this way I will get a swim in. We shall see.

Dogs are enjoying the weather as if it is best ever - not too hot - not cold - just right. 

The crew is playing like their life depended on it. It is wonderful to watch.  

Very Short Blog

Not feeling so hot so it's a short blog today. Willow went swimming. I just finished combing her out. It was not expected. I guess she was in the mood.

Tomorrow Daisy departs after a groom and Bonham and Axel come for a visit. It will be puppy fun for sure!

Our dryer had a pish pad stuck in the drum and overheated. I thought we were going to have to get a new one but this afternoon it is working. Let's hope it continues seeing that the pad is entirely out. What a costly mistake that would have been.

It was warm - not hot I am eating for the 1st time today and then crawling on the couch. It is one of THOSE days.

Before the Rain

Well this was before the rain but as I type the rain is teaming down hard. They got their play in hard and their nap time and now we are awaiting Dash to depart and food will be fed.

Newt is here and mom do not worry. He is having a total blast. He is like a kid in the candy store.

This was a no swimming day. It was strictly a play day. 

Looks like the rain is stopping. 

Dogs are running back and forth. Polo is playing with everyone. Polo likes to chew my outdoor table so we are putting bitter apple on it. He doesn't seem to care. Most dogs don't. LOL

Play and Play

Toby has departed. He had such a grand time. He played his body and mind out each and every day then he would rest. Embracing play is a good thing. Not sure if I got Polo in photos today. (Dennis is off) He plays with everyone and everyone. It is a good thing he comes here  as he gets his energy out.

Tomorrow Newt is coming. We are excited.

Dogs are sitting with Dennis outside. I have been busy as I always am when Nathan is napping. 

They say 70% chance of rain tomorrow so no swimming then. I did buy a new bathingsuit as I had droopy pants from losing weight. We shall see how this one fits. 

I am tired. Got lots of dawg snuggles last night but a couple decided to play half the night. I am not sure why but I did yell. It didn't do a bit of good. Sometimes there are nights... I imagine the same for you but with more dogs the possibilities are greater!

No Rain Day

Perfect weather. No rain. A ton of play. Back aches due to dogs sleeping up to Nathan closely due to nap time. It's a dawg life. 

Dawgs had a ton of fun today. 

I am having issues with saving a blog. This is take 3 and I keep getting shorter and shorter but hopefully 3 times is a charm. We shall see. 

Lots of grooming today so I am keeping it short. Let's hope this works this time.

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Rosie would like to say hi to her parents (Tempie & Truffie) on this special day and wish her siblings (Maggie, Frankie, Dash & Theo) a very Happy 2nd Birthday!

This gorgeous little sweetie brings infinite joy to us every single day! She is so smart, curious, funny, well behaved, loving and happy.  Thank you Darlah & Nathan for the happiest 2 years of our lives!

Longish Daze

Sorry - today was another 11.5 hour grooming day and I am eating my 1st meal at my desk as I do this blog. Tomorrow I am off. I didn't see the comment regarding Astro. Apologies.

Each time I brought a dog back to get another, I saw the play. No swim for me. Nathan had a swim. Dennis had his chilling outdoors. 

I think I am going to eat breakfast out tomorrow. Thank you, Sherry. I pray it is warm tomorrow so I can swim. I haven't even looked. 

Vivi is doing well though she wants everyone else's food. LOL Neesi has departed. I need to get her swimming videos up. 

A dog ate my long grooming jacket that I use to protect my clothes from hair and water. It seems I had it on the chair with a treat in it and it is destroyed and I mean destroyed. Whomever it was grabbed it off the chair. I had to order another and it will be hung up from now on. Who knew. Costly mistake. Live and learn. People laugh at this jacker as it almost hits the floor but as I said no hair on the clothes and that is a good thing.

Mr. Fudge and Finnegan departs tomorrow. Some more depart tomorrow but my brain  is literally not thinking. It happens after a long day. Obviously it is partially working. LOL 

Dogs had fun. I am glad!

Pool and Hang Out

Only Neesi swam. I do have videos but that will go up later. I have an insert I must paint so it is dry tomorrow. I see Dennis did not take many photos. 

When we complain about heat a reminder is that it is wind blown sand and 54c in Kuwait. That is to give you some perspective. Birds are literally falling from the sky due to heat. I read that and went oh my. I will take our heat any old day.

Dogs hung out a bunch outside. All 3 of us was outside at one time or  another. I tried to get more dogs in the pool but no desire. I also didn't try too hard as it meant baths. Neesi is going home tomorrow but not sure of what time so she had her bath tonight.

It was a good day. We are waiting for Vivi to arrive. Fudge just came. I need to paint and eat. The sun when I was swimming was elusive. It came, it left etc. Now it is blazing sun. LOL I am not going in tonight. Got that painting to do and nathan said they were out of the textured spray paint in the colour I required. Of course. But I need this grate so it must be done. I have 3 other things to stain but that is for another day. :-)

Getting Play On

I am tired. I just finished grooming. It has been a long day. It's 715pm and I started at 7am. 

This will be a short blog. No pool - exhausted and now I hope for bed. LOL

Dogs had a terrible time today - playing, eating and having a blast. Coco screams for her dinner and won't back out of the fridge when it is open. She's hungry. She's not the only one. 

It is Nathan's day off but no ones tomorrow so I am hoping for a swim. Nathan gets a swim every non rain day. I wish I was him. LOL

Can This Be Comfie?

Dogs do get into the most amazing positions leaving you with - is that - could that be comfortable?

Today I got to go to the mall with Sherry - eat tepanyaki - get Purdys and not swim. It simply was not warm enough but it didn't rain. Due to this rain, my cannas are HUGE. It seems the plants like the rain. Me - not so much. I think we have had enough. 

As you will see in the gallery, the dawgs were either lazing and enjoying the outdoors or playing. When Harlow is gone, no one seems to look for rabbits or baby squirrels or birds. It is interesting. 

We had dogs go - we had dogs come and it will be the same tomorrow.

I look around and simply put - it is a dog world here. They are happy and that makes me happy too.

I had a long day of grooming as my day off is tomorrow. I am about to crash on the couch with a bunch of dogs and maybe take a 5 minute snooze. Everyone has departed that was supposed to.

Stop Raining, Will Ya

Muddy floors, muddy feet - life is so good when you are a dog but can I train them to wash their feet? I think not. We are going through so many pads. I truly grow tired of the rain. 

Yesterday I was grooming a dog and someone on pickup thought I was killing the dog. Is that dog okay? Yes, he is fine. I had to call them in to watch me so they saw what I was doing. I was embarrased. If I picked up his foot, he screamed like he was dying. I do not think he likes his nails done. Nathan did the same with a dog today and it took both of us to do it. Now that first dog the person who came in to watch laughed and laughed. I told him to lift his foot and he did it for them. I never hurt a dog. I so love them but some are either drama kings or queens or they love controlling what you are doing. One dog that I do doesn't like me to shave the hair on the bottom of his feet so one holds and I shave. You adjust to make the dog comfortable with what you are doing. So, if you are doing this at home, be aware they are trying to get you not to do it but if you don't they will slip and their nails will curl over making walking painful and difficult. I tell you this as you need to know if you are holding their feet and they are screaming, you aren't doing anything wrong. Dawgs are funny.

Harlow was in the cedars today after a baby squirrel. It was a baby. Not sure where mom was but it was crying. I went back out when the rain stopped again and it was gone. Hopefully mom moved the lil one. Harlow was curious. She was just sniffing. Benji joined in and it wasn't as if they wanted to hurt the baby. I think they wanted to help him/her.

Hazel is a spirited pup. She was jumping on Socks, then Jeannie and then Neesi, Rain and Hope. She was expelling energy. She was having a blast. The older dogs tolerated her craziness but Neesi, Hope and Rain was delighted. The 4 pups have a spirited amount of energy. Tomorrow Coco will join the puppy fun. It's going to be a blast for them. I have a lot of grooming tomorrow but hopefully it won't rain. We shall see. 

Nathan made me steak, mushrooms and asparagus. So, I need to get to it and finish off the blog.

Oh a Wet One

It is a rainy day off and on. Not everyone wants to go out but some do.

Dogs napped with Nathan and have been playing like crazy ondoors. Tuppy was almost a mess before his humans arrived as he was playing so hard.

Ever notice the plants are growing really well - so are the weeds. LOL Is this summer? Heat or rain.... Is this what is in store forever for summer?

We watched a funeral online - another family member of Nathan's. Getting to be too many, I tell you. Downright sad. We all have our timelines but it is not ever easy. Be good to each other!

It's All About the Rain

HALT! Stop taking photos and let us in - will ya? The rain came and boy pelting heavy rain and the dogs wanted in fast. Thunder was loud. I sat outside to eat and got drenched literally. I am sitting with a bathrobe on and freezing feet. I need slippers. LOL

I cut Coco down and tomorrow I will bathe and finish her. She departs tomorrow. This way I can get everyone done.

A few departed today. Murphy arrived. The big thunder got her looking and she looked around and was more than fine. Remember dogs feed off of other dogs and your reaction. The thunder sound was huge today and someone was having a party closeby so when the skies opened up, the kids were screaming - not their dog - just the kids. LOL

As a sidelined I made Monday till Sunday, Morning and Night decals for Nathan's pill boxes. It was at his request. This was instead of buying new. He liked it better than the original. I also made Dennis a shirt and he said thank you. wow

Tomorrow I get the ipad back. I think I am going to put on two mismatched socks on as I am too lazy to go upstairs and who will notice? Not the guys here. 

Dogs are barking for their dinner. Safi and Murphy are laying on the back of the recliner. Sisters that still love each other. 

I also put a "Do Not Ring the Bell" on my bell outside. The dogs go crazier when the bell rings vs a knock - go figure.

Queen and King Dawgs

There are dawgs that have this attitude that they deserve everything. That is Jeannie. You noticed she is laying on the cot but no one is up on it with her. Oh, they try and she just looks at them and they lay down off the cot. In the house though they all say I am up on the couch too so there! Everyone likes this cot and I bought it off marketplace for really cheap. It came with no instructions but we managed. 

It was a warm day today. I almost took Neesi into the pool but being lazy as that would mean bathing her too. We will try closer to going home.

My tomato plants are working on overdrive. I have been making salsa, adding to salads. I even made a tomato sauce. Got to do something with them - ideas?? I have cherry and beefsteak tomatoes.

Dogs have been lazing. They are eating now. Then they will head back outside to hang out with Dennis. This is so much better than rain. Rain is a lot of work. Our son and daughter-in-law and the 2 grandkids are coming up the end of August. He wants to celebrate his birthday with us. Should be fun but exhausting too. You know what that is like. Our daughter-in-law just lost her dad and Nathan just lost his aunt this week. Sad times for all so the distraction of a visit should be good. 

We get to see Ms Murphy tomorrow for an overnight. I am excited!

Ms Harlow found the soil Dennis laid down so I took my forced air dryer and blew it out of her. I am starting to be creative after rain, soil etc. We learn after all these years.
