Got any idea how to get rid of weeds fast between the stones? Please send tips this way. The dawgs are our priority and that means the weeds due to the rain may be 2 feet high soon. HELP
Risa doesn't mind. She figures its natural - yeah right.
But with all this rain and pups no swimming for the dawgs. They say this is summer?
This year will be known as the Canada Post no mail year and the rainiest year. Rather drab and here they swore it would be the hottest one yet.
Shoshi still hates the wet grass and oh yeah we need the grass to dry so it can be mowed. Does it ever end? How do we handle it with Shoshi? We pick her up and put her in the middle making her deal. But Mommy it tickles my tummy!

Is that Risa looking so proud? What a great looking dog. I have finally found a treat that has Katie looking forward to grooming. It is that dried Chicken treat from Costco. I comes in a huge bag, so for me, I keep it in the freezer and take out one piece at a time.
As for the grass between the bricks, I kind of like that look, but if you want to get rid of it, try pouring boilling water on it. You will need a kettle with a narrow spout but it is my husband's prefered method. No chemicals and little work.

Well LOL good to hear I don't own the only hav that doesn't like wet grass. I do the same as you and just make her deal. Especially this summer ( and I live out west).
In June my sister in Ontario was contacted by their vet warning about chicken jerky manufactured in China. This is an excerpt from the email
It is advisable that dog owners avoid feeding their canine companions chicken jerky treats after several cases of kidney disease have recently been reported in dogs after consuming these treats. An official warning has been sent out by the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) as well as the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). The OVMA has received multiple reports at present of otherwise healthy dogs who are developing kidney disease after the consumption of chicken jerky treats
The products in question appear to be manufactured in Canada, but imported from China or Thailand. Multiple brand names have been implicated.
I have since heard that the Costco brand is not included in this list, but I'm not sure the accuracy of that statement either. Best to contact your vet to confirm.

Gerda: Every so often we go through this. I will check it out, thnx. The last scare we used the rest of our bag of chicken and so did several other breeders without incident.
Yes , I'd heard about it before as well. Hard to know what's what some days, and like other things that are 'bad' for us, how much needs to be ingested before it becomes an issue. I conveniently used the last of our chicken jerky when my sister sent the note along, so have made a batch of my own which will last for a few weeks while the dust settles.
Great to see the pups doing so well. They are beautiful :)
I think hot water will really work in this case I have tired it and it works.
