Monday, October 31, 2011 at 6:23PM Can dogs get moody? Yes! Kat and Treaasure was on a roll today. It was as if they just was unhappy about everything. Oh they snapped out of it but gad isn't it enough to have humans crabby and here you have dawgs that are?
The difference is the dawgs just want to complain to each other and not necessarily to you but humans...well you know what happens when they are crabby.
We actually gave Treasure and Kat a time out and now they are back to normal. It is rare but yeah talk to the paw I just want to snooze and be left alone can happen. Don't let them get away with being grumpy or it will validate that this behavior is okay and it ISN'T!

Kathy: No, not at all. She's been tested for thyroid etc. Treasure's issue is she wants to be alpha and Kat sometimes thinks he is. Remember I said a true alpha doesn't have to prove that they are, they just are.
I posted cause I wanted people to understand that you can't just accept or give excuses for ill behavior. The dawgs are small and cute but that's no excuse to simply accept.
Early on in Risa's life she used to growl under her breath when you moved her off your pillow when she wanted to sleep. I refused to let her get away with it. She doesn't do it anymore but when you allow this behavior - what I call controlling ones universe by their voice it can escalate. It could be 'don't bother me while I am sleeping' to 'don't touch that food' to much more.
There's nothing wrong with rules and boundaries. It actually is wise and a true form of love.
