27 Days Old

The puppies are all together so you will find the gallery on Spirit's blog. Tomorrow it will be on this blog. That's only fair.

One of the Tempie pups went to drink water on their own. I think it is on one of the videos. I am impressed.

We have had pad success and accidents. It is what to expect at this age. 

They are eating a significant amount of food. When they are not eating it, the mothers are. LOL With food comes longer sleep. Much of the time they crawl into the crates making videos hard especially if I am in bed at 3am and can't see inside the crates. 

They are embracing the changes.

26 Days Old

This crew is starting to use the pas quite a bit. 2 of them even walk over by themselves to use it. Bravo, little ones. 

They have found the crate and love it to sleep in. It makes it hard to get videos. 

Both crews are very comfortable with each other.

Videos are coming. I had a long day grooming.

25 Days Old Eating Solid

The pups had solid food for the 1st time and they were wonderful. Plus both sets of pups were together once again. They seems so comfortable with each other.

I am not feeding them solids till tomorrow to see how their system handles it. 

The pups are playing quite well and soon we will be taking out the divider between their pen and they will be all together. We haven't decided when we will be doing that yet.

The pups will be experiencing new things and that is called positive conditioning.

Videos are getting uploaded now. The eating ones will be last.

Tomorrow we will introduce water. They usually are slower about drinking water than food. They do get enough fluids for now from their moms.

The pups wag their eails excitedly to have me play with them. It melts your heart.

24 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

This was the 1st time that they came out of the xpen and joined the Spirit crew. I grabbed a waterproof blanket of sorts. It was clean but it was linty to some degree so apologies. It was a fast decision and I did it all by myself. 

Here is the gallery of the 2 litters out.

To make matters worse, Tempie was literally dropping food all over the blanket to feed her puppies. It was hysterical. She made a huge mess and its funny that she saw coming out as it is time to eat hard food. We will try the crew tomorrow in soft solid food and hopefully Nathan can help me. We have to make sure both sets of pups are up at the same time. At this point, it doesn't always happen when Nathan is available too.

23 Days Old

This is the 1st pups from both litters that used the pad. Imagine that!

Time to brush up the moms as I didn't get to it earlier. They are playing more and more each day!

22 Days Old

It is unfortunate but my video crashed without saving so no nail cutting video. I was miffed but I gies it happens. Glad I got some photos. Here is the nail gallery.

As you can see, the pups are now outside of the whelping box. No one was climbing out here but I wanted them to see the Spirit pups. They were highly curious and playful through the bars. Even Dennis commented - wow they are walking, playing and enjoying each other.

I was worried last night as I wondered if they would find mom. Dennis fell asleep for part of the night being exhausted so we were worried as he said 2 were in the crate. Yes, they found it themselves and like it. I weighed them this morning and 2 gained in a huge way and 2 the normal amount. For them to find mom by themselves was pretty impressive. I knew Spirit's would as they seem to always be together and Spirit plunks herself down near them. With Tempie's they spread out and at times they cuddle. This is a large amount of real estate. It will be interesting when next week we put them together.

3 Weeks Old

Can you believe it - 3 weeks? Sometime this week they will come out of their whelping box. Then they will look at each other through the bars and eventually they will come down too.

They are enjoying each other and they enjoy when mom comes to play with them too. It is fun to watch. 

In a week they will try solid food. I will do both litters at the same time.

20 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

The pups are active. They are walking and they even call to mom when they want to eat. They went from one being active to all. Sometimes all 4 of them together walking looks like a mob. LOL

They are getting closer to the weight that the Spririt pups are. It is interesting. Usually at 4 days difference, you see about 4 ounces lighter but the pups are now 2 to 3 ounces lighter. 

I have now gone to every 24 hours weighing vs twice a day. There is no reason as their weight gain is good.

19 Days Old

They are 4 days younger and that makes a lot of difference in sleep and activity but once they hit 3.5 weeks, you will notice less difference between the 2 litters.

But you will notice in the videos, this crew has started in with the play and activity. It is so exciting to see. I can tell we have some characters shining through.

18 Days Old

These pups are 4 days ahead so they will not be as animated as the Spirit pups yet but they are getting to be. One of them is very active and the others semi active but oh they are kissers!

I am really enjoying them at this stage. 

These pups so love SOFT blankets. I only have a few of these extra soft ones like the blanket they are on. They snuggle right in. It is wonderful seeing them burrow right into the softness!
