Firsts Last Night

Last night all 10 pups spent the night upstairs without their moms. You can see how they did in the videos.

But I will tell you how the process went.

Last night we got the upstairs ready for them. That included creating comfie spots for them to settle in. We also had a heat lamp to make sure the area stayed warm. We may have to add a heater (anyone know which are good) when we need the heat lamp for the puppies that are new.

Dennis created hidden little spots so they could cuddle in and go to sleep.

They had food and water. Moms spent the first half hour with them. The moms came to bed with us and we watched them on the ipad. I took a number of videos and sometimes I just watched. They moved around a bit but all and all they slept.

When Nathan and the girls went to get them this morning they were sleeping.

So a success? YES!

Wow, can’t believe they were still sleeping! Moms must have been thrilled to see them. I think it’s amazing they adjust so quickly to leaving them.

How do the moms react when you take them away from the pups for the night? Are they nervous about it?

Usually agitated the 1st night but neither mom was. they did look for them in the morning.

That's interesting considering it is first litters for both moms. I'm sure a lot has to do with the fact your dogs have so much trust in you and Nathan and the moms probably sense how their pups are doing, even in the other room. Considering they were still sleeping when you entered, they were doing A OK! 😊

What can I say. they are VERY laid back. They also feed each other's pups too.
