Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 6:44PM Darlah They appear to be a curious duo. They are fun to watch. Videos will be added shortly after their weigh in tonight. I weigh at 7am and 7pm daily. Eventually as they try to jump out of the scale, we will stop weighing or we will go to once a day. It depends on the individual pups.

The boy - eyes open day 12 though in this particular photo it looks like he is saying no they are not. You will see in the gallery that they are.
Today has been a tough day for me. No videos but 2 each for each litter. They will go up shortly.
Pups are surely making the most of being able to see as they were all over the place. Neither gained weight today as they were so active. They appear to be highly curious.
Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 5:11PM Darlah Interesting enough the Misty gal is trying to walk. It is a bit early for her but she is surely trying. They do have squinty eyes but no eyes open. It will be soon. They do like to snuggle a great deal. It's nice to watch.

Misty is her own hysterical self. Her pups are too. They love you big and kissy kissy even when I am trying to take videos. It is a bloody riot.
Monday, December 5, 2022 at 4:03PM Darlah I am not seeing signs of eyes open yet. Sage's boy had his eyes open at day 10. Does that mean anything? NO! I have had eyes open at day 21. They just open when they open. So, be patient and stay tuned.
They are eating, s;eeping and gaining!

Anytime from tomorrow on they can open their eyes. I wonder when that will be.

Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 5:50PM Darlah I can't wait till their eyes are open. They appear to be so laid back but there is no real competition. They do not mind being held and caressed. They do not appear to be stressed. I hold them many times a day to get them used to it. It is important to condition them.
Dennis crashed last night and slept here and there and all gained overnight. He was still in the same room sitting in a recliner but dozed off. He was afraid they didn't gain. He usually doesn't sleep till they are 3 weeks but exhaustion gets in the way at times.
The pups are doing well.

They are active. They sleep well and hardly ever fuss for mom. They are getting used to me handling them. I am hopeful that in a few days their eyes will be open. Imagine that!

Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 3:40PM Darlah Yep, Misty is hiding her pups and they are competing over food even though they both have their own bowl. I can't blame Misty as Sage started it but it needs to go. I think it will when the pups are mobile.

Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 5:06PM Darlah Pups are doing really really well. They are quiet little things for the most part but there is only 2 and mom is always close if not sleeping with them. Sage's fuss for her as she hangs out out of the heat when she can. I get it as the heatlamp is drying Misty's hair out.
She is bigger than him. She seems to eat more times. LOL
They are halfway to almost having their eyes open. What is the next stage? They will start to play when their eyes are clear. When their eyes are open, they are blurry and over a few days they get clear eyesight. Think of it as if drops are being placed in your eyes. Not too clear but eventually they get there.
These guys have a bit to go till their eyes are open. Sage has all but 1 with eyes open. One week apart. Let's see if they stay on the same timeline.

Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 2:04PM Darlah Do not do this at home, folks. We only do this when we must when they are feeding pups and when they stop feeding and try this out for size, they miss a meal and finally figure out this hand feeding is not going to happen.

Monday, November 28, 2022 at 2:37PM Darlah What an awesome duo. She lays on her back ever so trusting and he is - well the tuxedo man - a beauty.
Pups are gaining and doing well. We still had some - stay away Sage thing going on today.
It's 3 days and I am not sure I have played recovery but trying. With just 2, Misty will spoil them silly, I imagine.
Sunday, November 27, 2022 at 4:16PM Darlah Pups are gaining really well and Mom has solid output. Usually they don't for days after delivery but Misty is a super dog. LOL
She has stopped growling at Sage. We are making progress. You see Sage kept going in to Misty's whelping box and cleaning up the pups, laying in her pen and trying to take over. Misty was not happy. Sage was even leaving her pups to irritate Misty. I finally said loudly ENOUGH Sage and she has not done it since and Misty is more relaxed. Sage is more relaxed too. I wonder what was going through Sage's mind. She took my pups or I want them too - they are all mine. I wish I could read dog's minds but it was irritating and a riot at the same time. I even put up blankets and closed the gate to give Misty some comfort and Sage took her mouth and pulled the blanket down. The games dogs will play.
I thought I was recovering but I feel exhausted. Juggling juggling but this too shall pass.
Pups are wonderful. Eating and sleeping and dreaming, I imagine!
Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 12:02PM Darlah This gal is pure white. Usually colours are off white but this is a brilliant white. She is striking to me but so is he that I call tuxedo.
They are turning 1 day old this morning. They are gaining. Misty is eating mousse. Doesn't even want steak. We put up blankets to make her feel secure as Sage is exceptionally nosey trying to get into her pups. This will pass.
The pups are lively and do tell mom when they want to eat.

Mostly cleaned up now. Pups are getting doted on. I am now uploading the videos. Misty has not eaten but she is super attentive.

Pups and mom are doing well. They didn't gain nor lose which is typical when they are only less than 12 hours old. They are holding their own and finding mom. Misty has them spic and span clean. Right now she wants to protect her pups from Sage and Sage is mighty nosey. This will pass and they will co-parent quite well and have an even deeper bond due to it.

1st is a gal white with black. She was born at 954am. She has 2 black patches over her eyes but otherwise white. She will be stunning. She's a large one with just 2. She weighs 8-3/8oz 239g. Large to start is expected when only 2. Now we await the 2nd.
Second is a boy born at 1044am. He is mostly black, 4 white paws and a white streak. Those 4 white paws are from Risa. He weighs 7-5/8oz 216g
It's as if they are opposite - gender, colour etc.
Dennis slept through all of this. Pups are eating, lively but the 1st one crawled through blood so looks a bit messy. I will continue to use wipes till it disappears. It is too young to wash even with waterless shampoo.
