Jeannie and the Cha Cha
Cha Cha is over to play and have a bath.
I am going to wash her just before her human Daddy comes for her otherwise Jeannie will have her a mess again.
They are having a roaring grand time and this will be good for then in class.
Timmy will also be coming for a sleep over visit and I will be his teacher in class for that one class so that too will be great for me and for Jeannie.
Here's a few photos of the duo playing today that Nathan took. Now off to bathe Logan and Panda then Cha Cha then the 2 pups going home tomorrow. :-)
Class 3 Down
Jeannie has now had 3 classes with Timmy and Cha Cha. In this class she was doing a fabulous recall off lead but we aregoing in steps so that's what we did.
They don't realize daddy always teaches recall and gets a fabulous one as long as he treats.
Jeannie did wonderful in class. She did everything that was expected and more.
It may have been that Cha Cha came to the class with her or maybe this is just class 3 and her first set of classes and class 3 was it to come into her own.
I am not sure but I am glad she settled into her crate for the drive and was fabulous in class.
Cha Cha and Timmy are great in class. They had a set of classes before this one but even with that in mind - they are great!!
To Class With Cha Cha
Jeannie just had her bath. Nathan had people over and that was planned yesterday so I didn't get my usual timetable to wash up Jeannie so she got a rush job, pad cleanup tonight. My rush job isn't so bad.
She didn't look dirty but boy she feels and cleans up nice.
Cha Cha and Cha Cha's mom Jill is meeting us at our house to go to class and riding in together. So, Jeannie didn't eat, had a quick bath and this human also cleaned feet and legs on Logan and brushed up Panda and of course the rest of the crew was already groomed.
It's been a day and I am glad I can go to class. We shall see how next week goes.
I will be clicking in class. I think I am exhausted though and when we get home we have to rush for a havanese fanciers club meeting that we must attend.
Can I go to sleep now?
Spice best not decide tonight is the night.
Photos tomorrow if I click well enough.
Jeannie Day
Here are just a few photos of Jeannie embracing life as all Havanese do but especially the pups!
Thanks to Nathan for taking these photos.
Learning
I now run from the backyard to the deck when Daddy or Mommy calls me. I have a great recall in my backyard. We will have to test it in class.
I still am not crazy over heeling but that stupid lead they put on me, well I am dealing. I also touch nose with Daddy's hand. What a silly game that is. Even the rest of the adults got that one fast. :-)
When we had visitors they were surprised at how well I knew my name and how I come to it. So even with distractions I am no fool. I come for the treat.
Let's see how class goes this week.
Class Tonight
We are off to class tonight hoping that Timmy and Cha Cha are early so we can play indoors.
Doubt we will do the outdoors thing in that grass as its simply too wet.
Jeannie had her bath and is now resting just so she can be a holy terror at class time - of course.
It will be fun to see all 3 in class and to click pix. I also am excited that Teddy is our teacher. I just love her!
Here are a few photos taken today. Simba is now gone so now Simba or Zoe play.
Playing With Pups
Every now and then we get Jeannie playing with the younger set as it seems to bring out something special in her.
She went from very gentle to too much to back to being gentle. She is just a baby too so she is learning how each dog can play. This is a good learning experience. It shows well that she adapts to each circumstance and embraces it.
Tomorrow night is her first class. Hoping I can go too but it depends on Treasure. We shall see.
So What
It doesn't matter if it rains. That crazy lady puts on her purple and black rain jacket with a hood and takes us out anyways.
Shh don't tell her but she looks very silly in it. I looked at her and couldn't figure out that contraption on her head and started to bark at her. She didn't think it was funny so I stopped.
She needs to laugh more - I was just teasing - or was I?
I get to go to class soon with Cha Cha and Timmy. How cool is that? They will be better than me as they already went to classes and now how to walk on a lead but we will play catch-up. It's not a race - just a get there sort of a thing and besides they are my size so this will be fun!
Conditioning
Jeannie went to handling class last night but wasn't able to walk on the ground as she hasn't had all her shots yet.
She did have some training on the table and that went rather well.
In the class were all large dogs including a very large Leonberger and irish wolfhound. I think the very large dogs tend to throw her off. She wasn't bad but you could tell they were somethig new and that she needs some conditioning to the extra big type. This is NORMAL and that's why we do conditioning. You may get a shake or a growl - all signs that they are unsettled. The more they are positively conditioned the better their coping skills become.
This process should be seen as an adventure for you and your dog - a fun one and at times for some dogs a challenge but one that can be achieved. Expose, expose, expose in a positive way and you will like the result.
Tomorrow we head to the vet. Last night Jeannie traveled in a sherpa bag. Tomorrow she will travel to the vets in a hard crate. She may fuss. She may not but all good conditioning.
