Lessons Plus Fun Videos

Abby says I am boss. Today Abby was sewing her oats and putting her head over the little ones to say I am the boss. Interesting enough Roxie's pups said no.

Shiner started out playing with Abby nicely then was a tad too physical. We corrected and he's starting to get that the younger ones need to be played with differently.

There must be something in the air as Inula corrected Shiner too.

These are all valuable lessons. The dogs learn by play and when they say enough it is important for them to listen and if not you separate and then try again later.

This is how litters learn but in their case each puppy is the same age so they are not dealing with a larger dog but it is important that they do in a safe environment as it makes them better dogs.

It means watching, knowing when to say enough if one party is not listening but not coddling so you create fear.

Abby is still eating in her xpen and taking naps in it. She is fine by herself when she is tired. She is also doing well at night in the bed. She is a fun, fun dog. She just has to learn she is bigger than the Roxie pups and Shiner has to learn he is bigger than both of them. We are making headway and they will all be better dogs when they 'get' it.

Here is a video I took when all 3 pups were here and Sandy visited. It has the Roxie and Jeannie pups together.

Plus a truly fun video of Patches. She looks like she is enjoying herself!

Nice to see the two sets of pups playing so well. Love to watch Patches go around and around the couch with her toy. Funny little gal! She looks very happy!

Patches looks like she is working hard to stake out her place in her new home.
She seems like a sweet little gal.

Patches is an absolute doll. We consider ourselves very, very lucky to have her in our lives. You can really see all the work Darlah, Nathan and Dennis have done to socialize and train her. It is wonderful and she is truly a gem!
