Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid is a recognized National Pet First Aid Certificate course for dog and cat professionals and pet owners. Talemaker Havanese now has that certificate having taken and passed the course.
Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 11:27AM Jeannie tried to control Simba and Zoe's play. She wasn't successful but she did try.
Zoe was amazing how she corrected and ignored Jeannie when she was being bossy.

You have to correct consistently and treat and praise when they react appropriately. You do this with all dogs. Each has their own challenges in something. She thinks she is helping but she has to realize through positive training that it is good to be cheeky but let the control go as its just not fun to be bossy. Control is too much work. It is simply better to have fun and through conditioning you can get her to figure that out.
If you notice they didn't allow her to get her way. They ended up doing what they wanted and ignoring her. You also noticed she kept looking at the camera. She is a gal that looks for approval. Give her the wrong approval and you cultivate ill behavior. Give her the right kind and you cultivate the behavior you desire and throw in a ton of fun.
She is not for a first time owner. She will be a challenge but a very fun one. Dogs with attitude get a lot of attention in the ring but you have to channel it.
She loves playing with all sorts of dogs. She loves people. She loves life.
I will have fun conditioning her when Nathan is gone. I am up for this challenge. Remember boundaries, rules and consistency and it will pay off.
Nathan today was doing off lead heeling. Her focus was unbelievable. She will do anything for a treat and that's a good thing. It's more of a challenge when they don't care about treats.
I can't wait to see her in the ring.
