12 Days

No eyes open yet but we are on watch night and day. LOL

Oh boy with 3 moms I have a lot of blogging, galleries, videos to do but it is so exciting to capture their moments.

Today we did a video with Nathan while I took the videos, showing a more upclose look. I hope you enjoy. We did it for all 3 moms.

She seems to be very comfortable with me holding and stroking her. I do this with all a number of times a day so when their eyes open, they have already had a positive experience to associate with a human. I do this on purpose.

We have busy days with pups. I get up at 7am. I immediately weigh, change bedding if it wasn't changed during the night. I start a laundry. Nathan gets food ready for the moms and other dogs. Dennis started changing water dishes before I come down for the moms. I am thankful as I also put out water throughout the house. There are 3 in here with the moms. Plus we have 7 through the house that have to be looked at and cleaned and filled as there is a need.

Of course you have to make sure all pups are on each feeding. That's the only way you get weight gain. I also hold and stroke them. I fit in combing out all 3 moms. There are blogs, galleries, photo taking etc. That is just the start of the day.

Spirit's gal is trying to get her body going and has been practicing trying to get walking. Good one!

11 Days Old

Soon her eyes will open, It can happen anytime now. You usually get a hint of it by seeing little slits. When they do open their eyes, what they see is blur for a dew days as each dy brings clarity. Their ears also open at the same time. Soon she will be reacting to noise. Now all she uses is touch and smell. Ad you can see it is all they need when starting out.

Spirit has settled in to having 1 and now Ms gal is over a pound. We shall see what the others are at 11 days old.

10 Days Old

I can't wait till the eyes open. Going to be exciting times, don't you think?

Nine Days Old

Here is the gallery.

She will be the oldest in the crew. I feel bad for Spirit that she gained an extra only to have it depart. my mistake in being over tired and not thinking it through. But her gal who has size and age on her side kept laying on top of him. Not intentionally but I suppose she thought it was a nice pillow. It was not meant to be. It made sense to move him over to Sage who has pups just a day older. He will thrive with pups of the same size and Sage has a ton of milk.

Come when they get to 4 weeks all the pups will be together.

Spirit is a doting mom. It is so wonderful to watch.

Spirit and Cinnamons Pup

Spirit has been wonderful taking care of Cinnamon's little boy but he was not gaining weight as her girl was feeding and not leaving anything left.

So, I am trying him on Sage. Even thugh she has more pups, hers are just over a day oe so older so her milk is getting adjusted a to wha the pups needs are. We shall see how she does but I think Spirit is not happy I gave him to Sage. maybe I will have them share.
