26 Days Old

It is a challenge taking pups out to feed them. I had in mind side by side inside the pen but there is no room. Pups go exploring and I am gathering all 7 over and over again. It is an experience and they have wanted to eat many times but didn't as they instead wanted to play not really eat.

The gallery is on Sage's blog. Tomorrow it will be here.

I do have some videos up. It has been exceedingly busy. I had a class today and couldn't do that. Oh well - dreaming I can do it all. LOL

It will get easier then we will have more pups. hahahahaha

3 Weeks 4 Days Old

The pups are all together now but this is the first exposure to outside the pen for the Misty crew. We will try the Sage pups in the next day or two.

Here is the gallery.

The goal is to get them used to each other so we can have play sessions upstairs. They also have to get sturdy on their legs and with each day we see improvement with both litters.

Here are the videos.

Weighing them is quite ridiculous. I may have to stop. Some are so smart about the pad and others go, I need to go but that is progress. This is rather young to be using the pad. #7 uses it all the time. But he is also the sturdiest on his legs.

We have added crates and they like them. When we start having play sessions they will get used to travelling to somewhere fun in a sherpa bag. Everything we do helps them to be all they are meant to be. There is a method to our madness.

Tomorrow I will be placing a video link on one of the blogs and the gallery on the other and switching each day. I will be down to one gallery for the pups and well merged videos. I know you may like them separate but there are so many benefits in merging that you simply must!

I missed my classes today so I am going to try to get one done.

3 Weeks 3 Days Old

Here is the gallery.

It is funny to watch this crew when I sit inside their xpen, I feel like the mob is coming to get me. They wag their tails at me and are so excited. Oh Sage's are too but this crew has so many that they surround you. It's just funny.

You can check out their videos.

The last born always seems to make it on the pad for the most part. We tried them on water today and they said yuck. We will try them again. We have not tried Sage's yet. They do get all the fluid they need from mom, at this point.

They are curious, agile and climb in and out of the bed but every now and then ine will crael under the bed and cry as the think they are stuck there. Quite normal.

In a few days we will try this crew on food.

Here is the gallery.

Some are actually starting to get the pad. They saunter over and halfway stand but they are trying. Good ones...

Today Nathan cut one of the pups nails that seem to be growing in overdrive as it was getting stuck on the pad.

They are slipping and sliding on the floor. Some are better than others. With practice they will get there. They are doing better than expected.

Will get the videos up in a bit. Sorry for being so late.

22 Days Old

As you can see the pups were piled up today? Why? The heatlamp was not working. They get on top of each other to stay warm. It is back to working. If they get too warm they sleep far apart. Smart puppies, don't you think?

Here is the gallery.

Pups are climbing, walking here and there and each day they attempt to perfect their skill.

Videos are found here. I am going to start uploading in a few minutes. I didn't take as many as I usually do but it should be enough.

3 Weeks Old

They have reached the age of 3 weeks already and they are little scrappers. They are already perfecting their climbing skills getting in and out of beds.

Here is the gallery.

Even though its a long way to climb into the bed if mom is there or plunk out of the bed, they do so without feat. Nothing like motivation. Each day they get better and better at walking. Both sets of pups are getting acquainted with the pads as you will see in the videos.

The more you place them on, the more out of habit they will learn this is where to go. Each day I check the blankets several times a day and sometimes wet or soiled but most times not. They are not pad trained. This is the start of the process and as they get older we will be taking them outside but they will need body weight.

The largest boy is now over 2 pounds.

20 Days Old

The pups are now 1 day shy of 3 weeks. Soon they will be eating food, This is the 7th pup botn. He is the most assertive in the bunch so far. That changes throughout their development and siblings help.

Here is the gallery.

This one used the pad tonight on his own. It was interesting to watch.

The pups like soft items. Plush furry things. They are already crawling into beds that I have tipped in their side to make it easy for them. Eventually I won't have to do that.

Weighing pups can be a challenge as you will see in a few videos.

19 Days Old New Digs

The pups have new surroundings and now can walk around in a larger area.

Here is the gallery.

I was looking at the weight chart and fascinated at the broad range.

The littlest is 1lb 1-3/8oz (just over 1 pound) which is Sage's and the largest is #7 of Mistys crew 1lb 13-2/8 (edging up on 2 pounds). That is just shy of a 12oz difference. Tomorrow I will take a photo of them side by side. The gal in the Misty crew is the smallest and then spotted and full mustache. They still have time to change that around. But Sage's last born boy will be the smallest as he has smaller paws.

How did the crew do with the new surroundings? No stress. Neither litter had any stress with the changes. Stress is not a bad thing as it does help them create coping skills but it was as if they were always in this surrounding. They spread out. They investigated and now they are sleeping. If they are all spread out it is more difficult to make sure they have their feeding so Dennis may have an interesting time tonight. We shall see.

It was time as this crew was crawling out and doing the mob dance thing being so close and no place to walk.

I will get to the videos now so you can see them in action.

18 Days Old

Oh they snuggle with each other. It is nice to capture the moments.

Here is the gallery.

Momma missed a feeding while I was grooming. How did I know? She was bursting and they were sleeping. Instead of waking them up to get some relief, she let them sleep. They are eating 2 rounds each meal. What that means is they empty her then suckle to get another round of milk to come in.

They will get solid food at 3.5 weeks.

Here are the videos.

There is a cute video where they are all trying to - well most were walking enmassed. It was fun to watch. Soon they will need to come out of the whelping box as they simply will not have any room and besides every now and then one pup it another manages to get out of the whelping box.

They are getting older already!

In 4 more days on Tuesday this crew will be 3 weeks old.

Here is the gallery.

Some of them are taking a keen interest in each other and trying to interact. Also a few have managed to get out of the box. Soon we will have to take them out of the whelping box. When> Stay tuned.

Videos will be found here.

16 Days Old

As the Misty pups get larger, she tends to lay on her back to give them access. Eventually she will feed them sitting up or standing up.

Here is the gallery.

The pups are now weighed once a day vs twice. When they are younger, I weigh them every 12 hours to see if you have losses. If there are losses or issues you may have to syringe feed them one at a time every 2 hours. This has not occurred here. They are gaining over an ounce a day. So are the Sage pups.

The Sage pups are consistent in length but the Misty pups have shorter bodied and longer ones. They will vary in size. That's my guess from my experience.

Check out the videos.

Two Weeks and a Day

You can find the Misty pups in their back more often than not. they are comfortable with their environment.

Here is the gallery.

They are a bit competitive when it comes to the milk stations. It's the 2nd time around when they are trying to find that they crawl all over each other and some get frantic to find their spot. Remember they can see now. Milk mom - more please. They are all gaining well so they are getting sufficient milk but they love to eat.

Be sure to check out the videos.

2 Weeks Old: 2 Blogs Today

The pups are now 2 weeks old. They all have opened their eyes. When their eyes are 1st open, their eyesight is blurry. It takes them a few days till that clears up. Then the fun will start to begin. They are already attempting to interact with each other.

Here is the gallery.

They like their comfort. Can you blame them? I try to give them extra soft things to cuddle with.

Videos are always found here.

What is the next milestone? They will try to get up on their legs. It seems Sage's pups are doing this before the eyes open. LOL When they get mobile, life changes.

Eyes Open Last 2

I believe this is 1st born. Yes, I know it actually is. He is an interesting character.

Here is the gallery.

This is the last to open his eyes. He is such a fun one making faces each time you want to click a photo.

Here is the gallery.

They now all have their eyes open. Imagine that!

13 Days Old 2 Blog Day

Sometimes I feel like a crowd. When I put the pups on, I have to put something under Misty so she gives the pups access to all the milk stations. It is becoming interesting.

Here is the gallery.

They are just 1 day shy of 2 weeks. How did that happen? It's a blur. LOL Maybe not for you but I haven't left the house in all that time. The day starts and ends at bedtime. I hardly got any videos during the night as I slept.

Pups are wonderful. Still need eyes open in what 2?
