Still Cool

Here is the gallery.

We tried to take the pups out but WE were too cold. Have to laugh. It got to a high of 50f and we thought that was cold. So, the pups played upstairs - so far 2 times. They will have another play session tonight.

They seem to be lasting longer in the play sessions but sleeping longer as well.

Don't read any further if you don't want to hear something graphic.

We have 16 pups. They have 16 outputs each meal. They have 3 or 4 meals a day - most times 4. Do the math of how much I clean up. They also don't all do it at once. Just a crazy tidbit about the pups.

Videos will be up soon. I didn't do many but hopefully exciting enough for you.

Connections

Gallery can be found on Nami's blog.

Just because they are attempting to wean them doesn't mean they want to drop the connection. They want to play with them instead of feeding. This is critical as they learn so much from the moms after they are not focused on feeding.

Check out the videos.

Perfecting Skills

The gallery can be found on Willow's blog.

What we started noticing is suddenly the pups are perfecting their skills be in keep away or tug or running and jumping.

As I am typing, I hear the pitter patter of running feet back and forth. That is wonderful. They also expel a lot of energy that way and sleep deeply much like they did after the human visits.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Warm, Dry and Fun to Be Had

Here is the gallery from upstairs.

This was their 2nd play session. They will get another just before bed. We do it before bed so they asleep all night. Each time I check throughout the night, they are sleeping. They are doing really well.

They had a truly fun play session as you will see in the videos.

We are hoping no rain tomorrow but it seems it is supposed to be cold and wet all week. I hope that changes.

The pups manage to have fun no matter where they play and the humans stay dry too.

Videos coming soon.

Sunday Afternoon Visit

Here is the gallery.

Well this was the final visit and 2 weeks from now it will happen again. I do believe all the visits were a success. The 1st one as it was all new to them but every single pup was social, playful and loves humans.

I know I say everytime that I am impressed but as you know we kept one that went into a fear period and brought her along as I know we can do but no one here we need to do that with. They are all social beings and endearing.

Pups are sleeping now totally exhausted and they will sleep for a solid few hours. Their routine is they eat, play, sleep and start again and usually they sleep for a soild 2 hours but after play sessions like these, we are finding 3 hours is the wakeup time.

That tells you the more you expel their energy, the more they sleep. It works that way with them and it works that way with us too. Try it!

Check out the videos. Afternoon videdos are going up shortly. Thank you to the family that brought us maple syrup from their own yard. The son says hurry up - get me some waffles NOW!
