First Upstairs

The Ella crew slept upstairs last night without their mom but before they did, she fed, cleaned and played with them. 

How did they do? Rather well... Though the littlest only gained 3/8oz that tells me she did not really eat last night so today I put her on Willow and she had a fat tight tummy. She indulged. I will have to do that a few times or maybe she will start to eat the food during the night. Time will tell. Eventually we want them big enough to only be on food but that is too early still.

They did have a bath today and they did rather well.

Top Dog and Changes

Here is the gallery.

Who is the top dog? Small and mighty. Have to laugh. He always seems to be on top. 

Today we merged the 3 crew together in one pen. Ella was unhappy. She likes to have easy access to her pups without finding where they are. So, we put up a divider and that is what she has during the day. 

Tonight all the pups will be upstairs without moms. Imagine that. We will be deviding the 3 crew from the Tempie crew till they are older. This is the start of no moms at night. Dennis will be sleeping in his bed for the 1st time in almost 7 weeks. 

It will be a bit chaotic in the morning as the litters will come downstairs and need to be fed by moms all separate. It will be interesting.

Such a Lovely Bunch

Got Ya Tackle

Here is the gallery.

They are getting weight on them and really testing their abilities. They each explore on their own or together and of course they are perfecting their skills in play.

They are simply fun and kissy and huggy too!

Labour Day

Here is the gallery of 17.

The Ella pups are coming into their own. Even with the 17 being together, they play with each other and explore. You can find them in tunnels - in beds and attempting to climb up ramps and some are successful. They are the small and mighty. We have some real characters in this group. Shhh I think the littlest doesn't realize she is small. She also knows that Willow means milk. 

They are all eating Fromm's kibble unsoftened. They all have teeth. They will gnaw on anything at this stage.

As I type, the 3 crew are heading outside. Not sure why Dennis did them in 2 bunches as the 17 works.

The Ella pups are getting more and more mobile by the day. They are making their way up or almost up the ramp or in the chair. They are also busy perfecting their skills.

The Mighty

Well, you do not have to be large to accomplish something. This is Ella's last born and he made his way up on the ramp himself. I am proud of you, little one!

Ella had a treat today and swam in the pool. So did Willow. You will see it in the gallery of the main blog. They were so excited! They swam then came back and fed the pups. I believe moms need balance

Ms Ella and Her Pups

Here is the gallery of all 4.

This is an Ella boy. I call him circle on his back. Such uncreative descriptions but that's how I track. 

He gets so excited to see me. I often lay in the Ella pen and he's always kissing my face. He has a tiny tongue that tickles. He is such a handsome puppy with interesting markings.

All the pups were out with the larger pups and did really really well.

Ella Pups Had a Bath

Here is the gallery for all the pups.

I washed the Ella pups as they were simply wearing too much food from walking through their dish. They are actually getting better with that. I didn't do individual shots. I am not up to it literally. I put them in the tub. I used the sprayer with shampoo and then rinsed and towel dry. Then back to the bag with dryers over them till the last was done. 

I have not done anyone else as I need a recliner and rest. Maybe tomorrow I will do the Tempie pups? We shall see. Not today.

I didn't weigh anyone as the on the floor experience is trying to be minimized. Sorry. I am tired of this pain.

4 Weeks 4 Days Old

This is the 2nd smallest boy and he is a true character. He looks black and white but is actually a tri colour.

I tried to do a waterless bath on the pups this morning. I bought 2 different types. It was a no go. 

As my leg is really bad, I may not get them washed for the 6 week visit. Sorry but I will for the 8 week. I know that sounds like an excuse but it really isn't. Standing for all that time doesn't work, at this point in time. So, we will wash here and there as I can and do a marathon for the 8 week. My desire and capability is not the same. I wish it was.

4 Weeks 3 Days Old

Ella's pups may be small but they are mighty. I just have to laugh. They love me up everytime I see them and hold them. The 1st born black white tri boy appears to be the most independent at the moment. He is often found investigating this or that. 

They have started finding toys quite fun and this mat above is particularly interesting for them.They seem to have their floor feet.

4 Weeks 2 Days

The pups are starting to play all the time. They seem to be more and more comfortable with changes - indoors - outdoors. They do get along with the Spirit and Willow pups who are larger than them but of an age. The Tempie pups are too rowdy still and they are not mature enough yet but they will get there.

4 Weeks 1 Day

Ella's pups had their 1st play session in the upstairs hall. They did well. They were upstairs by themselves as they were sleeping when Spirit and Willows were upstairs. It all worked. Tomorrow we will try it again.

I am just sad as I only saw a sliver of it as I was grooming.

4 Weeks Old Today

I honestly can't believe this crew is 4 weeks old. They are playing and having a lot of fun with each other these days. They are on the smaller size but small and mighty. LOL

Yes, I am late with the blogs again. I so do not want to be.

Pups were outside twice today with Spirit and Willow pups. Going to be fun to merge the trio.

1 Day Shy of 4 Weeks

We did a comparison with Spirit boy and Ella's 2 smallest pups. Ella's 2 smallest pups is the brown and white sable gal and the white and black tri boy. I thought it would be fun to see how they compare. There are more photos in the gallery. 

The Ella pups are gaining consistently. They are playing. They so love to kiss you. Ella eats well as long as I make sure she gets her time. I do silly things like while she is feeding I give her a massage or lay down with her. She is finally eating well. It is funny as usually it is Spirit I have to coax to eat and Spirit is eating wonderful. Got to laugh. Each is different.

I am starting the Ella pups on the pad. They seem to make it more for solid output and has an ooops on their blankets so that is why you see them cleaned and changed often but they have just begun. This is quite normal. It's a lot of work but the key is being consistent so they become consistent.

26 Days Old

This crew wades in their food so we are thinking up creative ways to feed them so they do not. It is a riot but they need a bath.

They are starting to truly play. It's a riot to watch and they so love me when I get in the pen to play with them. I love it too!

25 Days Old

Here is the gallery including all 3 litters outdoors.

I had all 3 litters out together. A few went exploring. Some played and some just chilled. I decided that we are going to do Tempie's alone and these 3 litters alone till we can merge. They did well as a group vs all separate and it's less work but you also do not get separate galleries for each of their play sessions. I am actually trying to figure out how to reduce my workload vs add to it. So, this is my solution for now. 

I am not sure if you can distinguish who is who but I can. I hope you can too.  My goal is to eventually have 1 gallery for Tempie, 1 main gallery and 1 for the 3 litters and eventually 1 main and 1 puppy. Right now I am doing 5 galleries every day. I know that it may be confusing to you but if you do not know who is who, I can easily tell you. I do believe the litters are unique enough that you can tell like I can. Let me know if you disagree.

Tempie's pups will be smaller than the rest. Her last 2 litters was the same. At this point in time they are half the weight of most and less than that on the black tri, the spotted gal and the spotted boy. They will not be tiny as adults but they will be on the small end of the standard. Since the introduction of food, they are gaining more. Ella has begun to eat better. I have some magic between her and I to get her to eat. More she eats, more milk she has. She eats her meals on my lap. I spend extra time cuddling with her. These little touches make her happier and her pups are delicious due to her happiness. We do whatever as the moms are the most important. Funny - Ella is Nathan's dog. He will complain when she becomes my dog after this. Dogs are fickle. Fill their needs and they love you the most for it. It is a juggling act as everyone has turns but Ella wants all the attention. LOL I so love my dogs even those that think Nathan shoots the moon most. LOL

24 Days Old

Ella's pups went outside again today but I keep telling Dennis you have to wait a few more days but he insists.

Ella's pups have to be washed with a face cloth daily as they walk in their food so we are trying to figure out a solution. It's a riot. They do like their food.

Momma Ella coddles them - sometimes too much. She protects them and if she on a rare moment is outside of the xpen, she runs if they fuss.

Very short blogs across the board. Nathan is working a show and until 1pm, I am doing everything as Dennis is asleep. So - something has to be shortened. 

Pups are good and Ella remains with them most of the time.

22 Days Outside and Food

Here is the gallery.

Do we like food? YEP more than any other pups my humans have ever seen. It is so funny how much they like it. They also are having output so they are tolerating the diet change too. Bravo, little ones. Pups have had their best weight gain in a day.

We also took them outside and they just stood around. I think it is a bit early for them and we didn't have a blanket down. We will do better next time.
