Picnic Photos & Details

The picnic date took place on August 17, 2019 from 12pm to 5pm at Yvonne's place in Brighton. Check out the details here. Photos from the 2019 picnic can be found here. Yvonne's place is NEXT DOOR to her old place. I will try to put a havanese flag out front. Hope you can join us. Directions are here. The house # is 25. There is no picnic in 2020 due to COVID but hopefully in 2021. Stay Tuned!

Woofstock Is Back

I have been trying to grow Katie's hair out around her mouth. Every time it starts to look good, my husband cuts it down. She ends up eating it and then choking. How do you get by that stage?

As soon as it gets long enough rubber band it away from the mouth like show people do. It looks a tad ridiculous but it saves the hair and everyone will think Katie is a show dog. :-)

I woudl be more concerned on why she is chewing the hair. Food can get stuck in and they chew but if she is just chewing to chew then that's another concern.

Afghan dog people put snoods on themand some maltese people do to save the hair too.

I am going to try the rubber band method. Sounds like it is a tried and true way to keep the hair out of her mouth until it is longer. I am still working on her top knot and some days I just want to cut it off. Two seconds after I get it out of her eyes, she has it all messed up again. I do the split and under tuck to the back like you do. It is the best way of keeping her hair somewhat out of her eyes.
